How accurate is it that non-surgical rhinoplasties have caused blindness in patients?

Interested in non-surgical rhinoplasty, however, I've heard on some accounts that it has caused blindness in patients and now I'm having second thoughts. How accurate is that information? Is it worth the risk? Thank you in advance.

The experience of your injector is critical. The blood vessels tend to run along the side walls of the nose. In that regard, there are different risks associated with the area of the nose that's being injected. We prefer microdroplet Silikon 1000 injections for permanent nonsurgical nose job treatments. Since the size of a Silikon 1000 molecule is smaller than a red blood cell, necrosis blindness stroke or embolus have not been reported. Hope this is helpful! Sincerely, Dr. Joseph

No non-surgical treatment comes completely risk free but the risks involves with non-surgical rhinoplasty treatments are considered extremely low when carried out by a highly qualified and experienced practitioner. Non surgical rhinoplasty when performed by an experienced rhinoplasty surgeon is extremely safe and without complications.  Experienced rhinoplasty surgeons are aware of the vascular anatomy of the nasal dorsum, nasal tip, and columella and do not try to push the envelope.  Having said that, all of the potential complications that you have read about are real and have occurred as there are many inexperienced individuals injecting an area that they have no experience in.

Hi,There have been some reports of blindness from injections around the nasal bridge area. However, this risk is very low if the injector is experienced and knows how to inject the area around the nose. Risk of blindness for bridge elevation with fillers for non-surgical rhinoplasty is almost zero if performed correctly.Best,Dr.S.
