Should Rhinoplasty Come Before or After Face Lift?

The short answer is: it doesn't matter. Any sequence of surgeries is possible and one is no better than the other. Having the rhinoplasty and facelift performed at the same time, however, will be the most cost efficient option due to anesthetic and facility fees. Good luck!

Actually, a facelift and rhinoplasty can be performed together at the same time. If you choose to go that route, you will only have one anesthesia and one recovery. The overall cost is usually a bit less as well. If that is not an option for you, then it really does not matter which one you do first. They are procedures on distinctly different areas of the face and don't really interact. I would simply suggest doing the one that bothers you the most first.

 One can
perform a Rhinoplasty with a Facelift. I perform these
procedures together routinely. As the nose ages, in a similar fashion to facial
aging with
loss of skin tone, elasticity, and drooping of the nasal tip, Rhinoplasty can
be done to allow
for a complete natural look to the face and nose. This should be done in the hands
of a Board
Certified Plastic Surgeon with expertise in Rhinoplasty and management of the
aging nose.

For 35 years I have done these two operations together. This is a common practice. If you want to separate them do the one that bothers you the most first.        

I do both at the same time. There is no reason you need to wait a year between surgeries. Obviously you need to be seen and evaluated first, but usually they can be done together.

A rhinoplasty can be performed during, after, or at the same time as a facelift. Most
patients prefer undergoing one anesthesia and one recovery period which is
usually more cost effective.I would suggest you find a
plastic surgeon certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and ideally
a member of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) that you
trust and are comfortable with. You should discuss your concerns with that
surgeon in person.

 The rhinoplasty procedure and facelift procedure can be performed at the same time under one anesthetic with one recovery period. We have performed that combination many times in our office.  Look for a surgeon who can perform  natural results from both procedures.

As long as you are healthy, it should not be a big problem to have both procedures at the same time.  In our practice, if a patient is thinking of having both procedures, we'll often perform them on the same day.  Of course if a patient wishes to have them separately, that can also be done, but there's no major medical reason in most cases to separate the procedure in a healthy patient.Best wishes,Reza Momeni

The bottom line is "it all depends"Generally speaking if the patient's decision is to separate the two procedures I prefer to recommend treating the aging face first (face lift) and then set the rhinoplasty goal to the post op facial proportion and result. Just so you know, you can do both the rhinoplasty and the facelift at the same time.  This has the advantage of one having one recovery and saving on total money spent.  If you wish to separate them, I really don't think it matters much which you do first.  Good luck!
