Josely. Your first step should be checking in with your cardiologist and asking about the possibility of undergoing an elective procedure, such as liposuction. As long as your condition is well controlled with medication, there should be no contraindication. Come see me or another board-certified plastic surgeon in the area to review all your options and the best one for you. Good luck.
You can possibly still have liposuction surgery, but will need to get clearance from your cardiologist before doing so. I recommend speaking with your doctor about your surgical hopes and see if he/she believes you are safe to proceed with surgery.
Thank you for your question. It is best to ask first for clearance from your cardiologist and after that also your plastic surgeon might ask for additional preo exams before making a final decision. Best of luck
Beta blockers should block your tachycardia. During liposuction you are given epinephrine in the tumescent solution which often causes tachycardia. Beta blockers should help keep your heart rate down but your cardiologist might recommend reducing the epinephrine in the tumescent solution, to be safe. Be sure to get cardiology clearance, and have your surgery in a AAAASF certified facility or hospital.
