Short answer...you will probably be just fine, and in my practice this would not be a deal breaker. Longer answer...there can be two effects of smoking. First, you may have more coughing around the time of anesthesia. Coughing can cause a sudden increase in blood pressure, and this can lead to extra bleeding or bruising. Second, cigarettes reduce blood flow. This is more important if you are smoking immediately before or after surgery, so it shouldn't increase your risks. Discuss this with your surgeon.
Thanks for the question. I suggest you should meet your Board Certified Surgeon to talk this situation. Because it's better to wait a couple of months, your operation area trying to get healed. Then after yes, you can do smoke and drink. I wish you all the best.
I don't necessarily stop patients from smoking prior to liposuction alone. I only cancel cases that involve significant skin undermining such as facelifts, breasts lifts, or tummy tucks. Nicotine in cigarettes, nicotine gum or vaping can lead to poor blood flow and significant losses of tissue. However, the person to discuss this issue with is your surgeon.Good luck
No problem that will not affect your healing or your results. Stimulant drugs are a concern for lipo and will prevent your surgery but nicotine is fine for liposuction. We usually will cancel a facelift, or tummy tuck or breast lift with smoking but not with liposuction.
In my private practice I see a non issue. BUT why have you NOT asked your chosen surgeon this question in person??? Best to first see what your chosen surgeon responds..
It is important to discuss with your surgeon. It will depend on his/her comfort level and how long before surgery you otherwise quit.
I do not think the lack of definition in this area is related to your previous surgery. We all tend to accumulate stubborn fat in certain places. It appears you store some excess fat in the infraumbilical area, as do many men. Targeted liposuction of this area would probably...

Although compression garments, when worn carefully, are extremely beneficial for achieving a nicer and quicker result, large skin folds should be carefully “unfolded “ each time the garment is being put back on. Otherwise, unpleasant permanent folds and/or shin color changes can occur, tak...
Thank you for your question. It is hard to say what procedure you would benefit from the most without examining you. Please visit a board certified plastic surgeon for a consultation. Hope this helps,Dr. German Newall
Swelling after liposuction is extremely common, especially when performed on the lower extremities. However nearly 2 weeks after surgery, your swelling seems a bit extreme, and I recommend that you check in with your plastic surgeon for evaluation. It is probably normal swelling, but it is...
Layahrach. If your cardiologist has given you medical clearance to have general anesthesia, I am not quite sure why your surgeon has deemed you unacceptable with regards to health for this procedure. Be certain that your cardiologist has spoken to your plastic surgeon or get a second opinion f...
