Question

I was wondering if there is a surgical procedure that can be done where maybe the are with the hole can be cut out. I don't know. I just really hate it and I am so self conscious. Is there anything that can be done? I think what caused it was the person who pierced my nose using a stem that was too large. I know taking out a nose piercing would leave a small little hole but mine is so noticeable and large. HELP.

Hello and thank you for your question.  The
best advice you can receive is from an in-person consultation.  Based on
your photographs, you may benefit from a surgical scar revision.   Make sure you specifically look
at before and after pictures of real patients who have had this surgery
performed by your surgeon and evaluate their results.   The most
important aspect is to find a surgeon you are comfortable with. I recommend
that you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified plastic surgeon who
can evaluate you in person.

MissL.   Please stop feeling so badly because your issue is fairly common. I have treated many patients who wish to close pierced holes on various parts of their bodies. The only way to remove the whole is to excise it, and thus you are trading the hole for a small scar. While scarring can be unpredictable, chances are the result will be far less noticeable and easier to cover up with make up. The procedure can be done in the office, under local anesthesia.Be certain to consult with a board-certified plastic surgeon. Best of luck.
