I recently had an implant, abutment, and crown fitted where I used to have tooth #19. There is no pain. However, food gets trapped in between 19 and the other teeth. This was not a problem with my natural tooth. I went back to the dentist and he said that the crown had good contact with the other teeth and would be more concerned if there was a gap at the top of the crown. He said because the implant is not like natural roots, it will not cover the entire gum area. Truth?

Hi:You can always get minor adjustment done with crowns. It's best to go back to your dentist and share your concern about the shape of the crowns. Best,Dr. Maddahi
Unfortunately without more information it will be hard to give you much opinion. Sometimes with posts there is simply not enough tooth structure to salvage. If your tooth has come out twice in one year, no dentist may be able to help you save this tooth. If you can send more info, such as photos...
99% of the time the need for the root canal has nothing to do with a treating dentist. Simply having a filling placed can push the nerve "over the edge" and need therapy. The "cause" was the decay and not any treatment.
