I am 34 years old and about 3 months ago I had a crown placed on my upper molar. No root canal. It was due to a large filling and gap between the tooth when Id floss and food would constantly get stuck. I also had a crown placed on the bottom molar directly below this new crown about 4 years ago. Originally, when the new upper crown was placed I had some pain with biting hard food so they adjusted the bite. Ive had the bite adjusted at least 4 times on the top molar since. The top new crown feels fine now but honestly Ive been avoiding eating on that side so it could still hurt with hard food and Id have no idea but My issue is with the 4 year old crown directly below it.. after a month of the new crown the bottom crown now hurts., only when pressure is applied like if I were to push my finger on it or try to eat. I recently had the upper crown adjusted again on Thursday and they did an xray on the bottom teeth to make sure I didnt need a root canal. They said it looks fine but if it doesnt get better then I might need one on the 4 year old bottom crown directly below it. Could my bottom crowned tooth just be bruised from the top crown causing pressure even if the top crown feels fine now? I have a mouth guard but lately thats been hurting my bottom tooth too. Do I just resort to the root canal.. will that resolve the pain? He told me to wait 2 weeks but Im losing hope.
Two questions: I have a crown that is not flush against the gum on the inside/tongue side. Can the crown be altered to fix this? Or does it require a new one? Also, the bite is generally good (no pain), but food is bunching at the back and forced up btwn teeth. Is this common/acceptable or how perfect should the bite be in this regard? (Didn't have this issue with prior crown.)
I had a crown replaced 2 years ago due to grinding. I have a porcelain crown now without any metal. I can tell its getting worn again, but it hasnt grinded down to a hole yet. Its thin on top of the molar, in the groove. Is it possible to repair it? It has not cracked or chipped. Thank you
I had a crown put on maybe 2 years ago and recently there had been some swelling up towards the root of the tooth (like a hard bump) and then last week the crown fell off. So I went to the dentist and she prescribed amoxicillin and referred me to and endodontrics office- but the apt with them isnt for another month! I feel like I have to cover up this tooth with the crown in the meantime but am worried it might make the infection worse. Can I? Or should I just suck it up.
I had a crown done about 6 months ago and I can see a little bit of my tooth by the gum line. That part of the tooth is very sensitive. My dentist said the crown is OK and I should get a root canal for the pain/sensitivity. I'm still not sure the crown itself is OK though.
Female age 38 instant severe pain with air blown on it at cleanings. Dentist noted small portion of actual tooth edge is also cracked. Few questions. 1. Recommendation is to remove my fillings in the tooth, use dental mesh to avoid damage to the tooth, place a temp crown and come back 2 weeks later for permanent porcelain crown. No root canal. No flattening of the remaining tooth but just to crown it. Is this best course to avoid issues later? I have severe dental anxiety

The dentist created a plastic model of crowns for my upper teeth, which I need to use to decide whether to install zirconia crowns. I'm aware that due to the large gaps between my front teeth, the crowns will need to be larger than my natural teeth. However, I am concerned that they may be too big. Do you think the work is satisfactory? I need help making this decision.
I have a metal dental crown for 5 years now and beaide that is a tooth with filling for 12 years now. I smell a bad odor between the 2 and want to address it. The problem is how do I make sure which of the 2 is the main problem before I do the procedure of replacement? Thank you.
