Performing just a tip rhinoplasty may result in a slight decrease in price, but usually not a lot. Most of the cost of the procedure is getting into the operating room, getting put under anesthesia, and the dissection of the nose. The tip is usually the hardest part of rhinoplasty, while reducing a bump is more simple and straight forward. Be sure to see a rhinoplasty specialist for consultation.
... for a couple of reasons. Shortening a long nose is one of the most complicated procedures to accomplish, so it can be most of the work on a nose anyway. And further, it's just exceedingly rare that the tip can be brought up, and the rest of the nose requires no change at all!Be sure to read the section in the "Learn more" link on how to stay out of trouble while searching for a rhinoplasty surgeon. You should only have surgery if you are able to make yourself very confident in your surgeon's skills. Read that page very carefully. Most plastic surgeons are quite poor at this operation, and I believe my advice will go a long way toward keeping you safe. Finally, I usually make computer morphs when I'm answering a RealSelf question, to show the changes that are possible for your nose with a rhinoplasty. For example see this page:FacialSurgery.com/RealSelf/RealSelf_Morphs.htmlBut of course you didn't post any photos. At the *very* bottom of the "Learn more" page is a link to instructions on taking photos that are comprehensive and useful for online consultations like this, in case you'd like a more complete evaluation.
Most surgeons have a fee for regular rhinoplasty and another for tip rhinoplasty. In some cases, tip rhinoplasty can be just as lengthy and detailed, so there's no cookie-cutter answer to your questions. On average however, in our practice, we charge less for tip rhinoplasty than the full operation.
Hi Claudia,Some surgeons charge the same for all rhinoplasties, and others consider how long the case will take and then provide an estimate for the procedure fee + OR fee (which usually depends on time spent in the OR) + anesthesia fee (which also usually depends on how long the case is). Therefore, more straightforward cases have potential to cost less. I would encourage you to seek out a well-trained aesthetic plastic surgeon who does a lot of rhinoplasty for a consultation. Thank you very much for your question.Mark G. Albert, M.D.
The cost of a droopy tip rhinoplasty can be less than a full rhinoplasty. However, it depends on other areas of the nose that might need to be addressed at the same time. It is best to evaluate her nose from front, angle and side and from below and then make a detailed note of all the changes that you wish and then present to you surgeon for a better estimate.RegardsDr. J
Hello and thank you for your question. Thebest advice you can receive is from an in-person consultation. Cost of rhinoplasty varies based on geographic region and surgeon expertise. Make sure you specifically lookat before and after pictures of real patients who have had this surgeryperformed by your surgeon and evaluate their results. The mostimportant aspect is to find a surgeon you are comfortable with. I recommendthat you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified plastic surgeon whocan evaluate you in person.Best wishes and good luck.Richard G. Reish, M.D.Harvard-trained plastic surgeon
Hi there Claudia. The only way to get an honest answer relevant to your situation is to organise an in-person consultation for a discussion about the best options. In some situations, an open tip rhinoplasty alone is appropriate to fix a downturned nose and this may attract a reduced fee compared with a full open rhinoplasty but often other adjustments are advisable to maintain proportionality and balance of the nose as a whole, which are only possible through a full (open) rhinoplasty. Good luck!
A full rhinoplasty is more expensive in my office than just a tip. But, most patients usually require more than tip work to balance the nose appropriately.
There is no way of knowing without going for some consultations. Your nose needs to be seen and fully evaluated before knowing what is the correct surgical procedure for you. Each doctor will have their own fee schedule. Also make sure you find out what the facility charge and anesthesia charge will be.
The key is to determine which type of rhinoplasty is most appropriate for you. Simply because you have a drooping tip, you cannot extrapolate and assume that a tip rhinoplasty will do the job. You would need to be seen in consultation to evaluate the entire nose and whether you will have surgical alternatives. See a board certified plastic surgeon who can make a recommendation tailored to your situation. Best wishes.
Six weeks is still very early following rhinoplasty surgery. You will see many changes in your nose over the next 3 to 6 months as the swelling decreases. For this reason, most plastic surgeons wait at least 12 months before considering revisional surgery. Time and patience is the best...
This looks like a suture that the Doctor probably placed on the cartilage underneath the skin which has now been exposed. You should see your surgeon to remove this suture, otherwise it could cause further irritation. It's possible that once the suture has been removed, the redness will go away,
Costs of plastic surgery depend on the location, how expensive your area is in general, and also the reputation and experience of your plastic surgeon. You can call a few surgeon offices in the area, and most should be able to give you a cost estimate (or a reasonable range) for what you're ...
