My nose splint feels too tight? 6 days post rhino.

It is unlikely that the splint is too tight but you should really discuss with your surgeon. Call the office. It is very normal to get swelling inside, even to the degree that you can't breath well through the nose.

Normal surgical recovery involves inflammation and swelling in your nose which contributes to your stuffiness.  This can also cause temporary alterations in your normal sinus drainage patterns adding to the feeling of pressure in your nose.  It should not affect your end result. Things go back to normal once the swelling decreases which just takes some time.  I would just be sure to follow up with your surgeon as directed and discuss any symptoms or concerns at your appointment. Swelling following a rhinoplasty is completely normal, and nasal stuffiness can often occur. However, if you are in extreme discomfort do not hesitate to contact your rhinoplasty surgeon. Best of luck!

The splint is often placed to keep the reduced nasal bones in place.  Swelling internally can cause nasal obstruction sensations. Best to review with your surgeon.

Most likely the nasal splint feels tighter secondary to swelling.  Nasal stuffiness is normal post op.  Don't hesitate to call your surgeon, He/she should be willing to see you to make sure things are healing satisfactorily.

Contact your surgeon for a follow up visit.  It is unlikely that your splint is too tight.  Hopefully, it has not shifted since surgery.  Be careful not to get hit or bumped.
