Thank you for your question! For my patients, I recommend they wear the foam underneath the garment we provide for the first 3 weeks post surgery, 24/7, then an additional 3 weeks at night only. I recommend discussing specific post op questions with your plastic surgeon. Best of luck!
Dear Eramirez118,every plastic surgeon has his own postoperative protocol which he recommends to his patients. I would suggest you to discuss this with your plastic surgeon.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
Hello Eramirez118,I appreciate your questions! Every patient is unique and plastic surgeons have different post-operative protocols, customized for every patient, to achieve the best results. Based on my experience, wearing post-surgical specialized compression garments, immediately after the surgery, is an essential measure for speeding up patients’ recovery. I typically suggest my patients obtaining their specialized compression garments (2 of them) and one foam corset prior to the Brazilian Butt Lift surgery (BBL) so that they won’t have to worry about getting them after the procedure. I usually suggest them wearing the foam corset up to 8 weeks and the compression garments for 6 months, around the clock. These specially designed garments are fundamental in helping controlling swelling, bruising and also with contouring by preventing wrinkling of the skin and enhancing skin retraction. I recommend my patients switching to smaller/tighter garments as days go by and they get a smaller, beautifully sculpted figure after BBL. It’s always best to discuss with your plastic surgeon about the type of garment and wearing time that fits best your specific needs. Best wishes! Dr. De La Cruz.
Post operative protocols will be provided to you by your PS's office; follow that advice! Plastic surgeon preferences for compression garments and length of time to wear differ. For a period of six weeks, my patients typically wear adjustable garments with multiple bands so that tension can be adjusted and the areas of liposuction are less likely to get a fluid collection.
Thanks for your question. The amount of time varies with the surgeon. The original descriptions from Euope suggested 3 months of compression. Most American Plastic Surgeons recommend 4 weeks but I personally modify these suggestions and have patients wear the garments two weeks full time and then during the day for 4 additional weeks for a total of 6 weeks. The results are uniform and skin contours smooth with minimal inconvenience. However, you should probably discuss this with a board certified plastic surgeon when you see him or her in consultation. Hope this helps.
This is a question that you must ask your surgeon. If you chose them, I assume it is because you like their results, therefore you should follow their recommendations.
EramirezEvery surgeon has their own postoperative instructions you must follow. I use a compressive garment that remains on for 4 weeks. I do not use foam.Best of luck with your procedure.Dr T
Hello dear!! Thanks for the question and provided information as well. You are still early on the healing process, it can take up to six months to see your final results, so please be patient. At the stage you are in, inflammation is normal. If you have any concerns, please follow up close with ...
I do not use drains following a BBL.It is not worth the risk tof infection nor the discomfort with the use of drains. If a seroma or hematoma should occur in the first few days it can be drained.
Hello, Thank you for sharing the information, it is a pleasure for me to answer your question. Definitely the most appropriate is to start (liposuction and BBL can also be included), you are a candidate perfect, for the procedure, with this you can eliminate all localized fat and...
