Nikki. If recovery house means you’re traveling to a foreign country for your cosmetic surgery, and wish to know how long you need to stay in the country before returning home, I recommend that you rethink your plan. The surgery You are planning is quite complicated and unless you plan on staying For at least 2 to 3 weeks after surgery, you run the risk of having problems and being away from you Plastic surgeon. I recommend that you look for options here in the United States with a Board-certified plastic surgeon, which may be a bit more expensive, but a lot safer in the long run! Best of luck.
Thank you very much for this question. First of all it is important to point out that a recovery house is not the same as a hospital. Recovery houses are normally used when patients go abroad for treatment as an alternative for a hotel. Recovery houses may or may not have an in-house nurse. Every plastic surgeon will have a different regime of handling post operative treatments. In my experience patients will stay overnight in the hospital for one night following a combination therapy like the one you were talking about and then are able to return either home or to a recovery house or a hotel if desired. They will be able to return to work after two weeks. The first week back at work, after two week of recouperation, I suggest for BBL patients to sit on a rolled up yoga mat so that the bottom does not touch the chair. Have a wonderful rest of the day and readings from the beautiful island of Jamaica.
Hello and thank you for your question. Thebest advice you can receive is from an in-person consultation. I advise my patients that they will be able to return to work in two weeks after a tummy tuck. Make sure you specifically lookat before and after pictures of real patients who have had this surgeryperformed by your surgeon and evaluate their results. The mostimportant aspect is to find a surgeon you are comfortable with. I recommendthat you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified plastic surgeon whocan evaluate you in person.Best wishes and good luck.Richard G. In my Tummy Tuck patients, they must stay overnight at the clinic and at least 5 days at the recovery house. Based on my own experience as patient, I may say 7 days would be ideal. After that time you will still be on recovery mode for at least another full week and start doing almost normal life by 3rd week (21 day)Be encouraged. Dr. Cardenas
I think the answer to this question really depeds on what type of support you have at home from friends and family. If you have somebody to help you at home, I do not think you would need any time at a recovery-type facility. It would be helpful to have somebody to help with showering, drains, etc for the first week or so. If you do not have anybody at home to help, you should wait to return home until you are able to ambulate and shower safely on your own without worries of falling.
Every patient is different, but recovery from a tummy tuck with lipo and BBL follows a general pattern. My patients spend a couple hours in the recovery room and then return home. They are discharged with a binder/garment and SCD boots to help prevent DVT. They shower after 3 days and are encouraged to walk around their apartment/house the first night after surgery.
Thank you for your question! As you are preparing for surgery, please discuss your daily activities with your board-certified plastic surgeon and for a personalized recommendation on expected downtime. There were always be some variability during the healing process as each patient and the complexity of each procedure can differ. Based on the combination of your procedures, I would recommend a 2-week recovery period to rest post-op. Following your initial recovery, be sure to ease back into your regular routine.
Nikki,You should ask your surgeon for their advice first. Generally speaking, my out of town (or out of country) patients remain locally for 12-14 days for proper follow up.Best of luck with your procedures.Dr T
Hello dear!Thank you for your question and information provided.I suggest you stay for at least 2 weeks, but definitely consult with your surgeon first. Good luck :)
You are best to ask your surgeon what he suggests. If you are from out of town, it might be best to stay in town for about two weeks or so. Good luck.
Thank you for your question and photo. One year is plenty of time for swelling to resolve. If still there revisit with your surgeon or seek a second opinion. Good luck.
Medication preferences vary between surgeons. With your previous post-op experience, it is best to discuss all your concerns and a post-op plan with your board certified plastic surgeon.
Thank you for sharing your question and photographs and I am sorry to hear of your wound difficulties. Though your pictures offer limited views it does appear that you have suffered large areas of separation and tissue necrosis. The best initial plan is to gain control of the wound while your ...
