Since you are still healing, I would suggest that you wait until at least 6 months. If the dimple has not resolved itself at that time then speak with your surgeon about revision options. Best, Dr. Nazarian
At five weeks due to swelling contour abnormalities are fairly common after liposuction. It's too early to consider any treatment.
Five weeks is way too early to be concerned. Wait at least 6-9 months before considering scar revision. Massage the scars daily and it is likely they will settle down, if not simple scar revision under local anesthesia may be done. Be patient!
Thank you for your question and photograph. It is difficult to give you the best advice without an in-person evaluation to diagnose the cause of the indented scar appearance, but as you are recently out from surgery I would recommend you allow your liposuction results to mature before pursuing any treatment. The indentation is likely the result of tissue swelling around the incision site and should improve with time. If there is no improvement after 6 months or more, you may consider a surgical scar revision or fat grafting to help remove any contour irregularity.
You may want to try massaging the scar to help it smooth out. Remember, it takes scars a good year to mature. If all else fails, you can always undergo a scar revision but best to wait a couple of months to see if it improves. Good luck!
Yes there is a treatment for your indention. Most likely you will need to wait till after 6months since you are still healing. Discuss your concern with your Board Certified Plastic Surgeon at your next follow up.
Hello Dear, Thanks for your questios, with 5 weeks post op you are still healling, I remcommend to wait at least 6 months post-op, if has not solved by it self by the time you need to make an appointment with your PS for an evaluation. Good luck and best Wishes:)
Thank you for the question and the photograph. 5 weeks post op is still early in your healing. To make that determination, I would recommend you wait at least 6 months to decide. In the mean time continue in close follow up with your plastic surgeon. I am confident that they will make any needed arrangements should a revision be deemed necessary. Best wishes.
Thanks for your question. Definitely just wait for now. Five weeks is still early in the overall healing phase. This may work itself out naturally. I have done some fat grafting to persistent sites of dimpling, such as the outer thighs, but hopefully you will not need this. Best wishes.
Normally, I would say that a small indentation will likely resolve with time. Yours looks like the skin is significantly indented and will probably need a revision. This can be easily done in the office with local anesthesia. Speak with your surgeon.
Fat embolism is RARE with liposuction its less than 1% and most often is a risk with fat transfer/grafting. In 9 years of performing close to 8-10 procedures a week I have never seen this in real practice. Best, Dr. Emer.
Thank you for your question and photos. Liposuction by itself only decreases the fat layer. When you decrease the fat layer and already have loose skin and do not have good quality skin you run the risk of skin laxity (looser skin). The only way to treat loose skin is to cut it...
Hello dear, thanks for your question and provided pictures as well.. I recommend you to don't panic, it is normal that you feel burn after liposuction, your skin go through a big surgery, that's why. with the massages you will feel better, good luck
