Hello Doctors! I had my lips filled with 1 syringe in February of '17 and then in May of '17 to slowly get where I wanted to be. It is now August and there is nothing. Even my practitioner noticed and cannot explain it. She suggests using the Juvederm Ultra? These are Very expensive fillers and I do not want to waste money if maybe there is something better or I need to switch practitioners? Any advice is greatly appreciated! :)
Answer: You may want to consider lip implants as a longer-term solution for lip enhancement. Lip augmentation with dermal fillers can deliver beautiful results in many people, but not everyone's body responds quite the same way. If you're unhappy with the results you've seen so far from temporary fillers, you may be a good candidate for longer-lasting type of lip augmentation in the form of lip implants. They're permanent until or unless you decide to have them removed, so you wouldn't have to worry about the results disappearing sooner than you'd like.

Answer: Lip Filler Options Juvederm Ultra Plus XC is usually a fantastic treatment filler because it offers great plumping and consistent duration in most people. I have, however, found a very small number of patients break down the product at a much faster rate than the 1 year duration typical of this product. In this case I recommend switching to a hyaluronic acid product that has different cross-linking technology, such as Restylane or Vollure. The Juvederm Ultra is a more similar product to the Juvederm Ultra plus than either the Restylane or Vollure, so I'd try one of those two first.

Answer: Juvederm or Restylane for lips If you find that Juvederm XC does not last long enough, you could try a different filler such as Juvederm Ultra or Restylane Lyft. These are thicker fillers that can last longer.

Answer: Juvedermin lips If Juvederm XC was metabolized within very few months it would be difficult to expect a different outcome using Ultra or Ultra Plus. There are other options using fillers that should last much longer: Juvederm Voluma, Restylane Lyft or Allofill. The latter one is a different filler than Juvederm and Restylane lines. It is derived from a human fat and may last, at least in theory, much longer than other fillers. Another possibility is your own fat transfer but this must be done using a particular transfer technique; the "standard" fat transfer is quite unpredictable and very difficult to correct. Good luck!

Answer: Lip augmentation with Juvederm In my patients who have had juvederm injected into their lips and I see a quick dissolution of the product, I routinely recommend using Restylane to do the same and it frequently last quite a bit longer than juvederm. Good luck from New York City
