I have extreme swelling between nose and top lip after Juvederm injections today. Is this normal? (photos)

I've been icing it off and on since my injections, but it keeps getting bigger. Also be laying on 3 pillows. The bottom is only a little swollen while the top lip especially between my nose and top lip in extremely swollen. What else should I do to reduce the swollen? Had 1 full syringe injected between bottom and top lip.

Yes, there can be some swelling, which can be asymmetrical, after lip injections which can last 1-2 weeks. Icing, ibuprofen, benadryl and cold compresses can give improvement. If you're unhappy with your final results you can have it reversed with hyaluronidase and try a different technique next time. Hello,Being that your exhibiting swelling shortly after the treatment, this is considered normal.  In addition, it appears that you have a few small bruises which also exacerbates swelling.  We advise our patients to only use gentle (key word gentle) icing for the first 48 yours, Ibuprofen and Benadryl have also been known to help reduce the swelling. We recommend no massaging or manipulating.  If not improving or worsening, please follow up with your injector.

Swelling is quite common after filler injections and typically goes way in few days. If it persists follow up with your surgeon for evaluation.

It is normal to have swelling after any kind of injectable, particularly in such a sensitive area as the lips. Continue to ice the area, and take something such as Advil and/or benadryl. Both can help with the swelling. It should resolve within two weeks. Best of luck.
