Most of the facelift surgery pictures I have seen have the same head shape in before and after pictures, however some look very different. What can be the reason for the altered head shape in facelift surgery and what surgery type is most likely to alter it?
Answer: Head Shape Post Facelift It is highly unlikely that facelift surgery would alter one’s head shape. Most likely the subtle surgical changes in the patient’s skin and soft tissue, such as removing and tightening the excess skin or filling the sunken areas, is giving you an impression of a head shape change. As long as you consult with a board certified plastic surgeon with expertise in facial rejuvenation, there will be no change in head shape or size.

Answer: Altering head shape It's possible to change the physiologic proportions of the facial tissues using augmentation or reduction techniques, but in most cases, it's not necessary. This is a very individual decision. The skull and bones themselves are not changed with facelifting surgery. Be sure to discuss your goals and concerns with your board certified plastic surgeon and consider the pros and the cons. Be certain your surgeon is properly certified. I've attached a link where you can start your search.

Answer: Shape-changing heads . So much of this answer would depend upon what you mean by "changed shape "we would need to see the pictures you are referencing to really understand this. However, a well-executed facelift will often slightly change the shape of once face from a more boxy, bottom heavy face, to the more youthful, attractive, heart-shaped face.Best of luck! Answer: Change in face shape after facelift surgery As we age, our faces change from a youthful heart shape to an older square shape. A facelift will restore the youthful heart shape of your face. I think that is what you are referring to. There should be no change in the head- which I assume is the top of the face you are referring to

Answer: Headshape and facelifting A facelift is basically re-draping and tightening the skin and soft tissue over the facial skeleton. This does not affect the bones of the face and therefore, the headshape should be unchanged before and after surgery. There may be more definition of the features such as cheek bones, jawline and neck, but that is due to definition of your facial structure and smoothing of the skin, not altering of the head/face shape. Hope that is helpful, thanks for your question!
