I'm currently 23. I've tried nearly everything to regrow my hairline, but all they've done is maintain existing hair. I've read many responses advising people in their early 20s to wait many years until they lose a lot of hair so they can determine the balding pattern. However, for individuals who have 1) already taken medication for years to stabilize & prevent future loss and 2) are willing to continue taking medication to prevent future loss, is it fine to have a hair transplant at age 23
Answer: There is no right age to have surgery if you have a good understanding of what is possible and what to expect. You can tell you There is no right age to have surgery if you have a good understanding of what is possible and what to expect. PRP or medications will not regrow your hairline or stop hair loss completely. Hair transplant surgery cannot replace all the hairs you lost (and losing) but it can give you a better hairline and fullness. You should consult with a doctor for recommendations.

Answer: Hair Transplant at Age 23 The answer to your question is yes. It is possible to benefit from hair transplantation at age 23. However, of course, this requires a specialized approach using effective long-term planning to account for the likelihood of future hair loss. If your hair loss evolves to Norwood 6-7, it would be extremely important to plan for the long-term use of body hair. The amount of hair left on your head at these severe stages of hair loss would not be enough to provide for your long-term coverage needs, eventually leaving you with an irreconcilable area of hair loss. This problem can be avoided by having a safe and effective means for harvesting body hair as an expanded resource to draw upon. At my practice, the Dr.U Hair and Skin Clinics in Los Angeles, we are able to help young men, like yourself qualify for hair transplant procedures, rather than having them wait until they are much older.

Answer: Young age can be a candidate but with precaution. In general, we assume that age over 25 is optimal to consider the hair transplantation. However, upon my expereinece, I had done a few cases of younger age patients who are really suffer from advance hair loss. I have seen 18 year old with class 5-6 NH pattern , failed with all kinds of medical treatments and cannot continue his life because of low self esteem. The important point is the surgery should be conservation if you do it early in life. You should start from small amount of graft and keep the hairline as high as possible. The medical treatment alongside with surgery is somewhat neccessary.

Answer: Hair transplant at 23 Thank you for your question and for your photos. I believe you are a bit too young. An in person consult is best recommended. I would advise you to schedule a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon for a detailed examination to discuss all possible treatment options and what your expectations are.
