Is G5 treatment advised for belly liposuction?

I have my belly liposuctioned for about 2 months now, but still I can see there are some scars on the incisions, hardness and creases on the belly. Is there any option to improve this issue? Is G5 treatment right to deal the issue?

No particular scar treatment is better than another.  Silicone sheets, Mederma, and Biocorneum are reasonable and popular options.  I recommend that the scar therapy begin after the scars have healed and there are no open areas, which usually takes 4 to 6 weeks.  The scars from liposuction will continue to fade in most cases for at least one year.

Liza.  I appreciate your concern, however it is quite early in your postoperative journey. At this point I recommend gentle massage to the areas in question with any kind of moisturizer that agrees with you. It can take as long as six months to realize your final result after this procedure. Try to stay patient and positive and follow up with your plastic surgeon. Good luck.

Scarring takes a full year to settle down and fade. You are at the inflammatory phase of healing so the hardness is unsurprising.  The reality is that most patients do not need anything but the passage of time if the surgery has been correctly performed. Moisturizer or a product such as Dermend can help but rely on your surgeon’s recommendations.

i'm guessing what you meant was that you had liposuction it two months ago. At this point your incisions certainly should be well healed but would most likely still be very visible. The color or scar after skin incisions can take 12 to 15 months to fade out. Areas of firmness typically soft enough by six weeks and you have now passed that point. Patients who have overly aggressive Lipo suction or develop large amounts of bruising may have firmness that takes longer to soften up. Patients who have excessively aggressive liposuction may develop firmness that can be permanent or take many months to improve. I'm not a big fan of secondary adjuvant treatment such as the G5.  I am a big fan of well done surgery that does not require secondary intervention other than the patients own body's ability to heal.Results are typically final at around three months while there may be minor changes for longer than this don't expect much with the exception of the skin incisions which will fade out for another nine to 12 months. Best, Mats Hagstrom M.D.
