Liposuction of the calves and ankles takes MONTHS to heal.  And the bone structure of your body cannot change. most patients see something that resembles final results by about six weeks.  Final results take about three months except for calves and ankles which can have swelling for three times longer.  In this case  you should wait a minimum of three months but six months is probably more reasonable before making any judgements.Calves and ankles are the most technically difficult part of the body to get consistant high quality results.  Swelling is usually worst at the end of the day.  You can probably get a better sneak preview of final results by assessing the results first thing before you get out of bed in the morning.  If your results worsen over the course of the day esp if you are on your feet all day then you know you are still dealing with swelling and your results will take longer before they are final.Worst case you need a touch up that can most likely be done in the office.  A revision rate for calves and ankle liposuction is probably around 10%. Best, Mats Hagstrom, MD
