A little nervous on getting on a plane to go back home after getting my TT and breast augmentation. I will be staying at a recovery home for 7days post op then flying back home which is about 2hrs and 30 flight. Don't really know what to expect at all .
Answer: Flying After Surgery mrsbayala. While your planned flight home after Mommy Makeover surgery is relatively short, precautions should be taken. Firstly, the last person you should see before getting on that plane is your surgeon to check you out and clear your travel. Possible complications that can still occur after this surgery includes bleeding and blood clots. Frequent ambulation and deep breaths during the flight will help stave off blood clots. Dealing with post op complicatoions, whether on the plane home or later, are one of several arguments against medical tourism. If something does happen, it is always nice to have your surgeon near by. Be sure to consult with a board certified plastic surgeon, here or wherever you plan to travel for your surgery. Good luck!

Answer: Mommy Makeover Thanks for the question. Generally, most patients can fly within 2-4 weeks after mommy makeover operation. I wish you all the best.

Answer: Traveling after surgery Discuss your travel plans with your surgeon for a list of do's and dont's. You will not be able to carry heavy luggage and will probably be slower to move around so plan for plenty of time. When on the plane wear compression stockings and walk around a bit as allowed. The narcotic pain medication may make you nauseated so have a plan in place for that just in case.

Answer: Flying after surgery The risks of flying after surgery are too high for the first 2 weeks. The most significant problem is the risk of deep venous thrombosis (DVT) in the legs that can move to the lungs and may be fatal. We suggest that the patients refrain from all flying for 2 weeks after surgery.

Answer: Tummy Tuck and Flying Thanks for this question. You should be able to fly at 7 days after your surgery, as long as you have had a normal postoperative course and you are healthy. You will be sitting up or gently reclining so you will be relatively comfortable.I would be sure not to carry any bags, wear antiembolic stockings and keep those legs moving i.e. frequent walking. If when you land you have any leg swelling or calf and chest pain then I would seek immediate medical attention.
