Cost to remove Buffalo Hump? (Photo)

I now have a buffalo hump from being on predisone after cancer 5 years ago. (See Photo) whats the average cost to have it removed under local anesthesia?

Hi, thank you for your question. Congratulations on being cancer free! Removal of your buffalo hump is very straightforward under general anesthesia. In the New York area, board certified plastic surgeons will likely charge $4k-$6k depending on their level of expertise and availability. PAL liposuction is the way to go under local but needs to be done aggressively to get it done right since it is very fibrous and whimpy lipo just won't do anything. Cost is roughly $5000 for quality work.

your photograph, you may benefit from upper back liposuction.  Cost varies based on geographic region and surgeon expertise.  This decision should
be based on a detailed discussion with equal input from both you
and your surgeon.   Make sure you specifically look
at before and after pictures of real patients who have had this surgery
performed by your surgeon and evaluate their results.   The most
important aspect is to find a surgeon you are comfortable with. I recommend
that you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified plastic surgeon who
can evaluate you in person.

kew4you.   Your condition is not uncommon, resulting from medication similar to the one you had to take for all those years. Buffalo hump can be removed with liposuction of the area and sometimes your medical insurance will cover it. If not, cost for removal in New York City ranges from $5000-$9000.
