When considering breast augmentation, it’s important to prioritize quality, experience, and safety over cost. Cost considerations are implant fees, surgeon fees, surgery center and anesthesia fees, as well as post-op care. During a consultation, you will meet your surgeon and discuss your goals and review your implant options. Ask questions about what is included in the quote and the revision policy.Dr. Krishna Vyas, MD, PhD, MHSHarvard, Johns Hopkins, & Mayo Clinic EducatedDouble Fellowship Trained Aesthetic Plastic SurgeonNew York, New YorkABOUT DR. Thank you for your question.I would caution you from choosing a plastic surgeon based upon price alone. In my years of experience, I have seen countless patients in consultation who are seeking corrective work because they went for the best financial deal initially as opposed to the selecting the most qualified surgeon.Fees associated with a breast augmentation will vary based upon geographical locations, surgeon expertise, surgeon training, and location of procedure (office ambulatory center versus hospital setting). In New York, a breast augmentation with silicone gel implants typically begin around $8000 and can go up from there. I would recommend seeking out a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon who is well-experienced in cosmetic breast enhancement procedures. Many surgeons, myself included, offer complementary consultations where your candidacy can be best determined and where the surgical options, implant options, surgical fees and financing options can all be reviewed with you in great detail. Please remember that when it comes to your body, your safety and a surgical procedure, that you do not want to cut corners based upon price alone.I hope you find this helpful and I wish you all of the best!
I would highly advise against choosing a surgeon based on price. As the old saying goes, you get what you pay for. The cost of the implants, surgery Center fees, and anesthesiologist, are over 3 K or more, to begin with. The expertise of your surgeon is not something you want to cut corners on, or go bargain shopping for. That is how patients end up on Botched. Make a few consultations and see whom you click with, and who has a stellar reputation and credentials.Best of luck!Dr. SubbioBoard-Certified Plastic SurgeonNewtown Square/Philadelphia, PA
You will be hard pressed to find any place reputable and safe to be able to do the surgery at this cost. You will always get what you pay for, so it's better NOT to have surgery than to compromise on safety and quality.
Hello and thank you for your question. Cost varies based on geographic region and surgeon expertise. I would recommend focusing your search on finding the best surgeon for you and not solely based on cost. It is veryimportant that you thoroughly research your surgeon before committing tosurgery. It is a good idea to research your surgeon's educational background, online reviews, before & after pictures, and speak with anyone who you mayknow who has had surgery with that surgeon. During your consultation, make surethat you don't feel rushed and make sure that you have adequate time with yoursurgeon and not just their patient coordinator or nurses. If the majority ofyour consultation is spent with someone other than the surgeon, this is usuallynot a good sign. The most important aspect is to find a surgeon you arecomfortable with. I recommend that you seek consultation with a qualifiedboard-certified expert surgeon who can evaluate you in person.Best wishes and good luck.Richard G. Reish, M.D.Harvard-trained plastic surgeon
