I am looking to treat my gummy smile in the short term with botox, but I am worried that, while it may improve my gingival show during a spontaneous smile, it may lengthen my upper lip at rest. I feel as I have aged I have unconsciously trained the muscles around my mouth to have an ever-so-slight lift in my upper lip at rest—and, I wouldn’t want to add any length to my mid face at rest either! I am overanimated with the perioral musculature so that’s not really a concern of mine. Thanks!
