Is it possible after a rhinoplasty for a pointy tip to drop and become round? (Photo)

Question

I had rhinoplasty on March 26th and I know I've just made two weeks post op today but I feel like my tip is extremely exaggerated. My doctor isn't local and I just got back home to my state. I've sent him pictures and he claims that my tip is just swollen and will go down and round out. Is this possible? I really don't want a pointy nose. I explained I wanted to keep some sort of roundness at my tip.

Thank you very much for this interesting question.Swelling time after a rhinoplasty depends of the surgery complexity (Ex.: Rhinoplasty with nasal controled nasal bones fracture (osteotomy) will have greater inflammation than one in which only the nasal tip treatment).But, generally the nasal swelling Post-op It can last from two weeks to two months.To reduce this swelling, I recommend you perform delicates daily lymphatic drainage massage therapy over the face (around the nose) avoid sun exposure, and take pain/inflamation pills, as your surgeron precribe you.Kind regards, Dr. Emmanuel Mallol Cotes.-

Dear Purrfectme,Because gravity causes swelling to be most pronounced in the lowest part of the nose, it can takes many months (and up to a year) for the tip swelling after rhinoplasty to disappear.  It is too early to tell what your final results will be!  Be patient!Best,Dr. Michelle Yagoda

I think that at least from the photos it looks significantly better than where you started out.  But like your surgeon said, it is swollen and will soften and shrink a bit with time.
