I had a bulbous tip and asked my surgeon to slightly refine it ( but not too much, i didnt want a very narrow, pinched tip). My tip however looks very high and pinched under the tape and cast. The surgeon applied the tape pretty tightly around my tip, also partially closing shut my nose holes. Is this why it looks too pinched and high?or is it swelling? I really hope when the cast/tape comes of it lowers and widens a bit. I am worried!!
Answer: Rhinoplasty Thank you for your question, vera1993. You should not begin to judge your results at this point. You are in the very initial stages of healing and will not begin to notice significant changes until the 2-3 month post op mark at best. Remain patient and schedule follow-up appointments with your board certified facial plastic surgeon.Best wishes,

Answer: Early Appearance Is Swelling Hello,You cannot make any assessment of the appearance of your nose. Swelling causes the tip to appear to rotated, or turned up. Your tip looks normal, not pinched.Best of luck!

Answer: Rhinoplasty swelling Hello and thank you for your question. It is very normal to be swollen in the immediate postoperative period. The dorsal aspect of the bridge of the nose will usually decrease earlier than the nasal tip swelling. Nasal tip swelling can sometimes take 6-12 months to fully resolve. I advise patients that the final result of rhinoplasty takes 12 months. I recommend that you return to see your surgeon, as he/she will have a good idea of what to expect in regards to your specific progress, since they can evaluate you in relation to your preoperative appearance.Best wishes and good luckRichard G. Answer: My nose looks too high and pinched under the tape/cast. Will it look like that when the cast comes off? I am worried! It's impossible to judge your final result at this stage. Hopefully, you had the procedure and all of its ramifications explained to you pre-operatively. It is essential to have a thorough and informative consultation prior to the surgical date. Once the operation is performed, packing and splint and tape in place- you must wait adequate time for resolution of the surgical effects. Give it time and stay in contact with your Surgeon and his office.

Answer: Rhinoplasty You can not really tell much with the splint on, and the nose will change quite a bit over the next several months as it heals.
