Hi Doctors. I had an open rhinoplasty preformed in October of 2014 to correct a bulbous, slightly droopy tip, and to make my straight profile more upturned with a rotated tip. I am a year and a half post op and when I look at my nose, I still feel it is too straight and NOT slightly upturned like a wanted. But before I commit to a second rhinoplasty, I would like some surgeons to give me their opinions on my result. Please help me!
Answer: Well healing nose Thank you for the photos that you have submitted. The final appearance of your nose complements your face nicely. Your nose does not scream "rhinoplasty" and it is feminine yet strong at the same time. I think that in the long run you will be happy you decided against any further rhinoplasty surgery.

Answer: Revision, some advices: Thank you very much for sharing your concerns about your Rhinoplasty with us.After having analyzed all the info and photos provided to us, i recommend to perform a Secondary Rhinoplasty (not a tip revision) this means (basically) treat the nasal bones and the nasal cartilages. Therefore i would perform a narrowing of the nasal base (nose osteotomy) and alar and triangular cartilage shaping.Respectfully,Dr. Emmanuel Mallol Cotes.-

Answer: Redo rhinoplasty Dear Lana, Thanks for submitting your picture. An additional front view picture would have been helpful as well as your preop pictures. From observing your pictures, you have straight dorsal nose and a nice double break columella. You have also alar contraction with excessive columella show. It is difficult to to answer your question without knowing your preop consultation with your doctor. Surgeons are supposed to fulfill patients wishes if they are possible. If you want to convert your double break columella to straight columella , that can be done by shaving slightly the medial crura cartilage. If you want more curvy dorsal nose with more defined tip, it can be done by placing a small cartilage graft at the tip. To correct the ala contraction and reduce the columella show, an alar strut cartilage can help. You may discuss all these issues with your surgeon, however, you have a nice nose and any revision can make it worse. So you have to make sure that you are really troubled by the above mentioned issues and you are willing to take the risks. Best of luck, Dr Widder

Answer: Rhinoplasty Thank you for your question, LanaYoung. I suggest you consult with your board certified facial plastic surgeon for their opinion. You may also want to consult additional board certified surgeons. It is difficult to detect the level of upturnedness so please provide better pre- and post-op pictures herein. Best wishes,

Answer: Rhinoplasty Hello and thank you for your question. This is very difficult to answer without evaluating your preoperative photographs. I recommend that you return to see your surgeon, as he/she will have a good idea of what to expect in regards to your specific progress, since they can evaluate you in relation to your preoperative appearance. If you do not wish to return to that surgeon, then seek consultation with a qualified board-certified plastic surgeon who can evaluate you in person.Best wishes and good luckRichard G.
