Am I a candidate for submalar cheek implants?

Question

After a ps performed morpheus on my upper cheeks, I lost a lot if volume in the center of my cheek. Could cheek implants give me the look I had before morpheus melted my cheek? I would rather implants or at most radiesse (not ha fillers as they cause bloating).

Hello, thank you for your question. The best way to address would be with volume correction , either using facial fillers or your own fat. Neither correction is permanent, but fat grafting can last much longer. Most patients typically require more than one transfer to achieve correction due to partial loss of graft material. Facial fillers are somewhat less invasive and correction can usually be accomplished in one sitting. Discuss your desired results with an experienced surgeon to determine what is the best option for you.

I'm sorry you had the problem with your device treatment.  Although additional photos (or even better, an in-person examination) would allow for a better assessment, it does appear that you would profit from some additional mid-cheek volume. Radiesse would be a fine choice, but lacks a dissolving enzyme should there be any unwanted adverse reaction--which is why I stopped using it. On the other hand, volumizing hyaluronic acid fillers, such as Voluma XC or lifting fillers, such as Restylane Lyft are robust fillers that work well for contouring and lifting the cheeks, but do not possess the water-absorbing ("bloating") properties of more conventional hyaluronic acid fillers, such as Juvederm. The results of treatment with these robust fillers are immediate, typically engender an immediate "Wow!" reaction and give rise to little to no significant downtime. What's more, these more robust fillers provide about the same duration of effect in the cheeks as Radiesse. Make sure that you consult with a board certified aesthetic physician. Hello girlincharge,Your facial structure is very pretty and you already have well developed cheek bone structure. Therefore if you want more structure under your cheekbones you should select small ones and the designs can be selected to give you what you are looking for. Most of the hyaluronic based fillers are good but Bellafill is superior and permanent and will not cause bloating.Dr. Farole

By your description of the volume loss submalar cheek implants seem appropriate. To have a complete understanding of where your volume loss is it would be good to have you circle the area from which it can be determined if submalar cheek implants would be best.

Your assessment does appear valid and given your positive facial balance it would allow the contours to be natural appearing. However discuss the overall 3D projection of the  cheek too since you want to keep it natural.
