I am 5 weeks after abdominal liposuction. A week ago I stopped going with the special girdle. The result really disappointing. The stomach looks strange- hard swollen, and sticking out. prominent strip created above the navel. I am attaching pictures. What could it be? What should I do? .

Answer: Concerned about early liposuction result. 5 weeks is early to be looking for the final result from liposuction. There is still swelling and tissue healing occurring under your skin which can lead to external contour irregularities. Many of these issues slowly disappear with time. Be patient and follow up closely with your plastic surgeon, who knows exactly what was done and can best inform you about expected timing of results.

Answer: 5 weeks after Liposuction and worried about the current result. Thanks for your question and photos. Now is the time to be patient. You still have significant amounts of swelling that will not resolve for another several weeks. Then, it takes a good 5-6 months before you will reach your final result. There is not really much we can do to speed up the process of healing from liposuction but rest assured you will get there in time. Sometimes massage techniques are helpful but it still takes time. Express your concerns with your surgeon. I'm sure you will be reassured. Best wishes.
