I waited 18 years after the birth of my 2nd child to have this life changing tummy tuck. Don’t do that. If you’re frustrated with the way you look or the way you feel about the way you look, go do something about it. When I think of all mornings I looked in the mirror and thought “ugh!” When I didn’t have to, it makes me a sad. My abdomen was stretched beyond recognition due to the birth of two very large babies in 1999 and 2002. In 2020, I finally took the plunge and had a 2nd consult with Dr. Smith (first one had been 5 years earlier when I decided I couldn’t afford it) who was recommended my OB/GYN. Dr. Smith’s manner is welcoming and he made my stretched-out skin seem like an exciting challenge. We talked about the entire procedure in that first visit, from button shapes to recovery expectations, and I left comfortable that this was the time and the surgeon to do the job. I can’t say enough about the way Dr. Smith and Huy, the best nurse around, took care of me. It was unlike any other medical event in my life. Speaking of Huy, she is by your side for each visit and available by phone to answer the myriad of questions you will come up with both before and after the surgery. (Even the from desk staff a this practice is welcoming and friendly.) Post procedure, the care was still fabulous. I’d been so well prepared that no part of the recovery was a shock. Printed materials and conversations kept me as comfortable as I could be and the post-op visits showed that I was progressing well. No drains! I was back pedaling my Peloton slowly at 14 days and I looked like a new person at 4 weeks. This is unquestionably the best thing I‘ve ever, ever done for myself and I did it with exactly the right surgical team. My only compliant is that I didn’t do it sooner.
Dr. Smith is truly an artist in his field! He performed both an upper and lower blepharoplasty on my eyes and I could not be more pleased with the results. I feel so much better about how I look and am thrilled to look years younger around my eyes. From start to finish, Dr. Smith is professional, empathetic and knew exactly what I needed. I would recommend him with full confidence!
Dr. Smith has been amazing throughout my process in getting breast augmentation and a breast lift. I have been wanting this since I was in my twenties (I am 37) and he finally made it come true. He is personable, making me feel relaxed, helped me realize was realistic with what would look natural with my form (I wanted natural) and what implants would feel like. I knew what to expect leading up to the day of the surgery (in May 2020). The staff were welcoming, it was spotless, everyone answered all of my questions, and even with masks and checkpoints everywhere (due to covid-19) I felt comfortable. Coming out of surgery, the staff made sure I was comfortable before my husband took me home. They followed up that evening to see how I was progressing, making sure I was eating. In the days and weeks following all of the staff have answered even my silliest questions with patience (if you get breast augmentation done trust me you may a “what in the world” question or two) and understanding. Dr. Smith has been so awesome on my visits. I am so thrilled I chose him and beyond ecstatic with my results. Everyone has said they look natural which is what I wanted. Thank you!
16 years ago, I went to another Plastic Surgeon in Charlotte for a facelift and breast augmentation. The results were horrible. After extensive research and recommendations from my Internist, I choose Dr. Smith to correct my botched facelift & breast augmentation. The results was everything I had dreamed. Now, 16 years later, I have again choose the best Plastic Surgeon; Dr. Kevin Smith. November 5, 2019, Dr. Smith performed a Facelift, necklift, upper & lower eyelid surgery and a TRL Laser peel. I am so proud of my results. Dr. Smith's professionalism and concern is amazing. Dr Smith's complete medical/surgical staff make sure your every need is met. H. Lee, RN, called me back immediately and answered any questions I had. Please do not do like me 16 years ago and have to learn the hard way...always choose the most qualified person, and I truly believe, it is Dr. Kevin Smith. Updated on 15 Jan 2020: If you ever have the TRL Laser peel...so worth it. Be patience with the healing because you will have down time. Just be sure to follow all post op instructions. You can start wearing some makeup 2 weeks after the peel.
Kevin L. Smith and his team are incredible! They take their time to explain the procedures, answer your questions, and give numerous examples of thier work to make you feel confident in the outcome. He listens to you when you discuss what you are hoping the outcome or result will be and does exactly as you ask. On the day of surgery, his bedside manor is calming and encouraging. His team is very responsive and ready to assist you in any way. Highly recommend!!
I am extremely happy with the entire process of my breast augmentation. It's something I had wanted done for the last 10 years and I am happy I waited until I met Dr Smith. We discussed what would work best for my body, all my questions were answered thoroughly. The results exceeded my expectations. The staff was also great, everyone was very helpful. I highly recommend Dr. Smith.
The best decision. Dr. Smith is incredible. My results, after having a mini face & neck lift, were beyond my expectations! I have always been reluctant and scared of the idea of facial surgery because I’ve seen some really bad ones. Finding out that a beautiful friend had had her facelift from Dr. Smith, I got excited about meeting this amazing doctor. I have always heard that he is the best and most experienced. Dr Smith was willing to spend lots of time with me answering my questions during consultations and pre-operation. His staff was caring, helpful and encouraging. I had almost no bruising and my recovery was amazing. I was out in public in less than a week. The most important thing is that I look like myself, but only much younger. And I don’t look like I had a facelift. I look refreshed. So grateful Lorrie
Great care at Charlotte Plastic Surgery--very professional, friendly, efficient practice. Skilled surgeon. The recovery process was longer than I anticipated but I got through it just fine. My scar hasn't particularly faded, but I knew that about myself going in. Clothes fit really well now--it's fun to wear different kinds of dresses, tops, etc. Very happy with my decision and outcome!
My breast reduction and lift was simply perfect! I went from a 36DDD to a 36D. I'm about 10 months post op and I could not be happier! My scars are fading nicely and I have the full perky shape I was looking for. I had no issues or complications and the entire process from consultation to surgery to follow ups was smooth and easy. I originally wanted to go down to a C cup but Dr. Smith suggested I go with a D to keep the fullness. I'm really glad I did that. My new D cups fit my body shape perfectly! If you're in the Charlotte, NC area or are willing to travel, I highly recommend Dr. Smith
Very professional, knowledgeable and happy with results. The breast aug and abdominoplasty have allowed me to feel more confident after three pregnancies. Recovery was manageable. Did exactly what I asked!
Dear wfbarnes,Thank you for your question and submitted photo. While lower eyelid blepharoplasty is an option for you, it would also be possible to gain some improvement in the puffiness by filling the hollowness below the bags. By correcting the cheek volume loss it will "mask" the superior puffiness. I especially like to use Juvederm Voluma to fill the anterior cheek in this instance. Be aware however that this is a very "technical" injection and be sure that you seek advice from an experienced board certified plastic surgeon, facial plastic surgeon or oculoplastic surgeon (or an injector under their direct supervision)to learn about all of your options.Best wishes.
Dear dafinaademi,Thank you for your question and photo. It would have been very helpful to provide photos of yourself straight on and in profile to be better able to answer your question.I have had a great deal of success "sculpting" chins with a "high-lift" filler such as Voluma. This is a very conservative approach to let patients "try-on" a new chin profile with little risk and no downtime. Furthermore, if the look wasn't what you sought, the filler can be "erased" by the injection of an enzyme. Seek the advice of an experienced board certified plastic surgeon, facial plastic surgeon or maxillo-facial surgeon to learn all of your options and good luck.
Dear julie57,Thank you for submitting your question and photo. It is difficult to give you a specific answer without a face-to-face examination. It is unlikely that Voluma would cause fat prolapse under your eyes but, filler injected in the wrong place (too high in the lid in your case) could give rise to this look. Despite having Vitrase injected there still could be some residual filler that is causing this fullness. Also, there are rare inflammatory situations that can create edema in the lid that can also look like this. It would be very important to be able to feel the fullness and to be able to look at pre-injection photos to appreciate the changes and determine a solution for correction.Return to your injector or seek consultation from an experienced board certified plastic surgeon or facial plastic surgeon to determine your options. Best wishes.
Dear madzj,Thank you for your question and photos. Filler is, in fact, a great answer to your asymmetry issues. Please seek the advice of and experienced board certified plastic surgeon or facial plastic surgeon to learn about all of your options.Using some of the newer "thicker" fillers such as Voluma, injection at the level of your cheekbone can provide significant lift and sculpting to create more symmetry. Furthermore, since Voluma is a hyaluronic acid filler, the product can be "erased" if you didn't like the effect making it a very safe. Also, with Voluma you can expect almost 70% of the correction to last 18 months or so. Best wishes.
Dear jnewb50,Thanks for your question and photos. Without face-to-face consultation I can't provide answers that are more than generalities. Whenever upper eyelid surgery is contemplated, it is necessary to take into consideration the relative position of the brows. The brow and upper eyelid form an aesthetic unit that is much like a cornice board and draperies. If the cornice board drops down, one just doesn't cut off the drapes at the floor. The cornice board must be put back up where it belongs.Be sure and bring old photographs with you from that period ten years ago to your consultation with an experienced board certified plastic surgeon or facial plastic surgeon. These photos are important to be able to judge the natural and normal position of your brows so you don't end up with an inadvertent "surprised" look after having a browlift that wasn't indicated. If your brows remain in the same position (they don't look too low now) then simple upper lid blepharoplasty will likely give you the result you seek.Good luck.
