I have a full head of hair minus my widows peak which is advancing in the corners of my forehead a little higher than I'd like. I just want to be able to slick my hair back in the morning and look good as opposed to finding hairsyles that cover it.
Answer: Is 36 a reasonable age for a hair transplant? Dear jyujj,36 is a perfectly fine age for a hair restoration procedure, and your story is not unusual. I hear a similar story every single day from patients just like you. You are not alone.Remember, however, that having a hair restoration procedure does nothing to stop the underlying phenomenon of hair loss. You have male pattern baldness (I am assuming) and you will always have it. Hair loss is a progressive phenomenon, meaning it tends to just get worse and worse. It would be important to strongly consider preventative measures to slow your hair loss, such as low level laser therapy (LLLT) or finasteride. Using preventive therapy can decrease your chances of having to have many more surgeries than you planned on to keep up with your hair loss. A few weeks ago I performed a hair restoration on a physician. It was his 8th procedure. That’s a lot of hair transplant surgeries for one scalp. He had most of his surgeries before effective preventive measures were available, and so he just had more surgeries as the hair loss got worse. Today, however, we have multiple preventive therapies with a proven track record of success. In choosing a physician, it’s important to remember to see one that only performs hair restoration surgery, not one that has added it to his or her list of cosmetic surgeries. The results of a hair transplant are permanent, and often difficult to correct if it doesn’t look exactly the way you’d like.I hope this information is helpful to you.
