Hairs shedding 5 months after hair transplant. Any suggestions?

I got my 4000 graft hair transplant done in June 2015. Lost around 50-60% of transplanted hairs after 2 months and then shedding stopped. Now I am almost at 5 months mark...for last 2-3 weeks I have noticed some hair shedding again. Is that normal to shed some hair around 5 month post surgery. Just worried if I am going to loose these new hairs. I am not using any medication. I have hairmax laser which I use 2-3 times a week. Is that ok or should I stop that. Just order Biotin. Any suggestion?

I'm sorry you are having issues.Do you have a photo you can send me of the thinning area?In the meantime it is ok to use the hair max if that is your only choice. There are better products out on the market that will be more powerful and easier to use on a consistent bases. The typical reason patients don't have success with these hand held units is because it's very laborious to have to hold this above your head and move it around every 5 minutes etc... The bottom line is "If it ain't easy, patients are not going to be compliant"The Capillus 272 is basically a baseball cap that you wear for 30 minutes 3 x a week. Very simple and easy with 272 actual laser diodes. (not LED'S)

It is natural for transplanted hair to shed a few weeks
after hair transplantation surgery. However if you are noticing shedding five
months later, it is most likely your native hair that is shedding. This is
known as shock loss. Shock lock usually occurs in the first few months following
the surgery. Consult with a doctor to see what options are available to reduce
the hair loss. Read more about shock loss below.

If your hair is shedding after surgery and you are concerned, you should see your doctor for a follow up exam.  Shedding occurs weeks after surgery (not months).  At this point you should be seeing some hair growth.  It is important that you follow up with your doctor.  Lasers will likely not help.

This suggests that you have progressive androgenic alopecia or you have a new condition that is initiating hair loss.

The transplanted hair fall off after hair transplant as shared by you. However, 5 months down the line, it  would be your original ( non transplanted) hair which would be falling off. It is better to visit your physician and start off with medication to bring this under control.

I am assuming that the shedding is occurring in your normal area around the transplants. This is delayed shock loss which accelerates the normal balding process. If you were on the drug finasteride (Propecia) it might have stopped this from happening. If you are not on that drug, go back to your doctor and ask him for it (assuming you are male).Shedding
after a hair transplant while on the drug propecia is unusual. I would then doubt it is
coming from the drug, but rather an acceleration of your normal hair loss
process. If the shedding is in the transplanted area, the new grafts, when they
grow, will off set some or all of it. If the shedding is from all over the front and top of
the head it sounds like shock loss which usually accelerates the hair loss that
you might have seen two years after a hair transplant had you not been on the
drug. If you are developing a more advanced balding pattern with acceleration
of your hair loss, which a Bulk Measurements with the HAIRCHECK instrument can
provide, it will show over a one year time frame, what exactly is your hair
loss (in numbers) and then you and your doctor need to develop a MASTER PLAN
for what may happen to you.

it is normal to shed right after hair transplant but you should be getting new hairs growing in at this time. However since hair loss is progressive you may be losing some of your native hair,  I suggest to check with your doctor and start on a medicsl regiment routine to slow down the hair loss.
