Can I remove the septum extension graft and columella strut?

SL20261992Jan 24, 2026

Female, 33, normal skin Revision rhinoplasty – reduction question I’ve had two rhinoplasty surgeries. After my revision, my nose became longer and the tip feels very stiff and over-supported. A septal extension graft and columellar strut were added. My original goal was minor correction (asymmetry and alar notching), not increased length or projection. I’d like to know if it’s possible to reduce or remove the added tip support to bring the nose closer to its previous length and softness, and when this is typically safe to do. My before picture was after my primary rhinoplasty and I am pretty sure the surgent used toungein groove to support the tip. I’d like to go back to the before picture as seen below. Thank you
