Midface lift - how long do the results last? Why are surgeon opinions so different?

Memo83
I’ve consulted several plastic surgeons about the mid-facelift / endoscopic facelift / ponytail lift, and I’m finding it difficult to understand why there are such mixed opinions. Some surgeons told me the results last only 3–4 years, others said it’s permanent but aging continues naturally afterward, and a few said it has minimal visible effect compared to a full facelift. I’m not looking for a dramatic change — I’m still relatively young and don’t have much skin laxity — but I’ve noticed some descent in my midface/cheeks and would like them subtly lifted. Could any surgeons explain: • Why there’s so much variation in opinion about this procedure? • What determines whether the results are long-lasting or short-lived? • For someone with mild cheek descent and good skin tone, is an endoscopic midface lift worth considering over other options? I’d really appreciate your insights — it’s confusing to hear so many different explanations for what seems to be the same surgery, just described with different names
