Extreme redness 1 year after facelift - does this need to be treated? (Photos)

Hi there, I’m extremely concerned as I have extreme redness in both cheeks, 1 year after my fIacelift procedure. I always had abit of the redness since the procedure and it’s progressively gotten worse slowly over the months and is now worse than ever at 1 year out. My doctor is overseas and after I send pictures he said I have Rosacea and doesn’t want to discuss that this might be related to the surgery. I still have pain and a lot of tightness, I’m worried he pulled my skin too tight. Can anyone advise if this could be a serious issue with blood flow problems or skin necrosis or anything else. Is it possible to get skin necrosis after all this time? Do I need to act or is this normal part of healing?

First, to set your mind at ease, there does not appear to be any problem with blood flow to your skin, and you are not at any risk of skin necrosis this far out from your surgery.  Your photos also do not show any deformity, indicating that your skin was pulled too tight at the time of surgery.  It appears that you had a flareup of your rosacea which can occur from the physical and emotional stress after surgery plus the surgical trauma which triggers an inflammatory response.  Your best way forward would be to find a dermatologist who can help you manage this to resolve your redness and maintain your result.   Best wishes.
