I’ve gone on several consultations for the O-Shot and all of the doctors mention the same thing when describing how they will do the procedure, but a few seem to emphasize that their superior expertise in the procedure somehow makes it more effective for their patients. Does the experience level of the doctor actually matter or is this just a sales pitch?
Answer: Experience is always better Hi! The O shot is a very nice procedure that our patients love. As a procedure goes is is moderately invasive in that you get two shots to sensitive areas of your vagina and clitoris. Is it a fairly simple procedure once you are trained to do it? Yes. Do I want someone who has done 1 or 2 doing my O shot, if I have the chance to have someone who has done hundreds of them do it instead? I want experience for myself personally. I think just like anything you do in life, whether it be baking a cake, doing taxes, administering lip filler or doing an O shot, practice makes perfect and experience matters. When you do something several times it means you know the different nuances of providing the service and what you can expect to hear back from your patients because you've done it a hundred times. I will always choose experience for my procedures, but thankfully you always have a choice and new providers get experience from those willing to give them a shot. I hope that helps.

Answer: Does O Shot experience matter This is an excellent and very valid question. The O-Shot® is a technique-based procedure, and while the overall process is standardized—drawing your blood, preparing the PRP, and injecting it into the clitoral and G-spot areas—the experience and precision of the provider absolutely matter. Here’s why: Proper placement is key to effectiveness. Injecting into the correct anatomical zones with the right depth and angle ensures that the PRP stimulates the target tissues (nerves, blood vessels, and collagen). An experienced provider can tailor the treatment based on your unique anatomy and specific concerns (e.g., sensitivity, dryness, or incontinence). Providers who’ve done hundreds of procedures often refine their technique to maximize comfort, minimize risk, and improve outcomes. In my own practice, we've seen stronger and more consistent results over the years as we’ve honed our method. So yes—while the procedure steps are similar across offices, the skill, understanding of intimate anatomy, and precision of the injector can absolutely influence how effective your results are. If you’re considering the O-Shot, it’s not just about who offers it—it’s about who masters it. Warmly, Dr. David Ghozland Cosmetic Gynecologist & Sexual Wellness Specialist

Answer: Experience matters The O-shot needs to be administered in certain areas at a certain angle to be effective. If not given in the right place, it will not give the desired effect. In our practice, we also concentrate the platelets to work better. My advice is to go to O-shot.info and find an O-shot certified provider to do the procedure. I provided a link below. Hope this helps.

Answer: Yes , more experience matters Someone with extensive experience doing vaginal and pelvic exams who understands normal anatomy and variations of anatomy understands differences that effect the procedure technique. Ie: like prolapse which changes locations for targeting injections like oshot is very important to the success of the it. If the correct angle isn't used for the correct space, which is very precise near the clitoris, for instance, you will not get as much of a benefit. I do think it is worthwhile when looking for someone to treat you to ensure this is a procedure they do routinely.

Answer: Expertise AND the Quality of the PRP are both important for a successful O Shot In addition to physician expertise in administering the O shot, the quality of the PRP is paramount. We know from research studies that there is a minimum number of platelets required in order to have a robust angiogenic effect (creating new blood vessels) which is very important for these types of rejuvenation procedures. If an inadequate amount of blood is drawn and if the PRP kit used is not of the highest quality, then the response to the procedure will suffer even if the technique was otherwise fine. In my practice we test the patient's platelet count from a simple fingerstick done in the office and then run it through a specialized software program to tell us how much blood to draw in order to get the target number of platelets. We then test and document the dose delivered, to ensure the best possible result every time. In most cases a 70 to 90 ml blood draw is needed.

Answer: Experience matters I would have to agree with the doctors you have consulted with - yes, experience is important. The female anatomy is complicated and an advanced pelvic surgeon or cosmetic gynecological surgeon with extensive O-Shot experience would likely give you the best results. Hope this helps!
