Im single female 33, our culture is very strict on virginity. I underwent labiaplasty in august22 but it went all wrong and im left with botched labia, which is not looking normal and not virgin like. I hate going back to same surgeon for redo. So i went to another surgeon and she said she'll trim the edges of remaining labia to give a softer look. Im not satisfied as the labia will still be in two pieces. And not a normal whole look. Is there any chance for me to look normal again?
Answer: Labia reconstruction The answer is yes. As the inventor and innovator of the wedge technique in 1994, I reconstruct many women who have had labia reductions by other surgeons, both wedge and trimming techniques. The reconstruction technique depends on the deformity. The reconstruction is more difficult than a primary labiaplasty and should be done by a plastic surgeon with extensive experience in labia reconstruction. I published the first and most extensive paper on labia reconstruction in the prestigious journal "Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery" about ten years ago. I need better photos to determine if you had a wedge labiaplasty that can be reattached or if you had an irregular trim labiaplasty. If you had the latter, fortunately, you have adequate clitoral hood to reconstruct your labia minora with clitoral hood flaps, which I invented and published in that journal article. In this surgery, I take the remaining tissue of your clitoral hood and transfer it downward to create labia minora. I have done this surgery about 80 times with excellent results. The surgery takes about 3+ hours so it is not a simple office procedure. If any surgeon reduces more of your clitoral hood, you will be ineligible for this repair. You only get one good chance to reconstruct you, so be patient and ask a lot of questions. Gary J. Alter, M.D. Beverly Hills, CA - Manhattan, NYC

Answer: Yes, you can look normal again! Hello Diana, I'm sorry about your poor experience. You can certainly have a revision where you will look much better. It appears that following your wedge labiaplasty the labia separated on the right side, far more than on the left. You also have redundant lateral prepuce (hood) that needs to be reduced. All this can be corrected at the time of revision surgery. Go to the link below to see hundreds of before and after photos where you will find many examples of clitoral hood reduction at the time of labiaplasty. The reason you looked so "botched" is that the clitoral hood wasn't reduced at the time of your labiaplasty. From that link you can schedule a virtual consultation via phone or zoom, at which time we can discuss in depth your anatomy, expectations and concerns. Answer: HELP FOR BOTCHED LABIA Thank you for your questionYes your appearance can be improved. Your surgeon did not address your prepuce which is creating the distortion in your appearance. To understand this you need to know there is not one pair of inner labia. There are two. A lower pair that inserts into the clitoris and an upper pair , called prepuce, that forms the hood and can insert into and deform or overwhelm the lower pair. Your photo shows the prepuce was not resected, giving you the bulky appearance , and just trimming will not address this. I would not touch the lower pair as it is short enough already and does have the advantage of a natural edge (normal) appearance . You need to do your homework and find a specialist who can address the prepuce properly. The video below may be helpful.

Answer: Labiaplasty revision surgery Hello, Thank you for the question and the photos. I'm sorry to hear that you are not satisfied with the results following your labiaplasty procedure. Sometimes, the edges may be trimmed a little more to make them more even or fat grafting may be performed for additional volume and improvement of shape. I would encourage you to seek an in-person consultation with a Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon specializing in Labiaplasty procedures to further discuss your questions and concerns. I hope this helps.Best regards, Dr. Karanetz Dr. Irena KaranetzBreast Fellowship-TrainedBoard Certified Plastic Surgeon

Answer: Labiaplasty gone wrong, botched labia, looking bad. Is there any chance for me to look normal again? (Photo) Thank you for sharing your question and I am sorry your results have not been what you anticipated. I do think you can make a nice level of improvement through a revision procedure but would advocate for more in-person consultations with labiaplasty specialists.
