Are my implants misplaced? (Photo)

It does appear that you have lateral displacement of your implants because the pocket is too wide for the implants you have.

I cant comment on what was done on the previous surgery and what the surgery was done for, but your implants are falling off to the side because the internal pocket/capsule is two big. Treatment would be to shrink the capsule and tighten the pocket laterally to push your implants close together to prevent that dip that you see on your chest wall.

Yes you have implant malposition. I would recommend downsizing implants, performing capsular tightening, using an internal bra for further support (Galaflex), and also performing a breast lift (anchor type scar pattern). Regardless, these are all my own opinions based on the photos provided. I would recommend seeing a plastic surgeon who has great training and experience in aesthetic breast surgery.

A lot could have happened in 12 years. Without a more detailed exam, it’s impossible to tell but it doesn’t look like it’s misplaced but it looks like your breast tissue is thinned out (atrophy) around the implant and is hanging over the implant. It can be corrected.

I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment, it would be difficult to determine what went wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice.

Your large implants have thinned and stretched your tissue and you are older. You would do better with smaller implants, tighten the pockets and lift. I suspect you went larger.

A board-certified plastic surgeon is qualified to address your issues. Board-certified plastic surgeons have spent years of training and have the top level of experience and skill. Seek out a board-certified plastic surgeon for your cosmetic needs.

It sounds like more then just a breast implant replacement was performed!
Was silicone implants placed?
Was the size changed?
Was there a lift performed?
Do you have pre-op photos available to compare?

Without doing a physical exam, it appears that you may require a lollipop mastopexy to remove excess skin, tighten and raise the breasts. There is the definite possibility that the pockets may have to be adjusted as well.
