I’m scheduled for a breast augmentation soon. The surgeon suggested a 255cc - 295cc round gummy implant. I’m a deflated A-B cup now after having children. I’m worried anything under 300cc will not give me the full C cup I want. I have curvy hips and want my top body to match my curves for more of an hour glass shape. Is there a reason a surgeon would suggest a small implant?

Answer: Small Implant There are several guidelines that help to select an adequate imolant size, those are based in anatomical measurments. In accordance to patient's anatomy there are some recommendations in terms of implant size, implant profile, pocket etc. Probably your surgeon recommends you the size based on those guidelines in order to get the best outcome.

Answer: Implant selection One of the criteria when selecting an implant is the breast width. The implant must be able to fit the breast space. It may be that your width is narrow. I encourage you to discuss your concerns with your surgeon. It is important that you feel comfortable and confident in your surgical plan.

Answer: Breast augmentation sizing Thank you for your question. Unfortunately it is difficult to answer without at least pictures, however, if you’re anatomy is amenable a larger implant is perfectly normal and OK to have. It’s best to have a consultation and preferably undergo 3-D imaging to look at your visualized postoperative outcome.
