Garments should be tight post procedure, please speak to your physician about getting one that is more customized or get spanx or a foam pad for underneith. Best, Dr. Emer.
You should see your plastic surgeon because if it is too big you'll most likely need a new garment or you'll need to wrap certain areas with an ACE bandage.
The reason for these garments is to give support to healing tissues. With a tummy tuck the garment supports the skin and fat flap against the underlying muscle layer. With liposuction, the space created by the removal of fat is obliterated by the garment which also supports the skin against the body.So a loose garment would be ineffective. You should get the next size down from your plastic surgeon. All my best.
The sensory nerves traveling through the fat to the skin are injured during liposuction. This leads to numbness. As the nerves heal, the numbness should subside but this will take months. You may experience tingling and burning sensations as the nerves heal. All my best.
It may take many months for the skin to fully heal and hopefully the dark spots will resolve as well. If they don't you may need a lightening cream.
It would be best for you to see your surgeon to determine if this is swelling or fat. If you press on the area and it indents significantly, it could be swelling. If this truly is an area of fat, you would need liposuction to remove it.
