I had my breast augmentation done 4 months ago. I was originally a 34 A/B and got 450cc moderate plus silicone unders. I haven't seen much change over the last 6 weeks and I'm worried my nipples are still too low. I have a follow up scheduled with my doctor next week.
Answer: Nipples too low? thank you for your question and submitting photographs. This is a fairly common question actually. The augmentation procedure does not alter your nipple position. There is a wide range of opinion from women with regard to the ideal nipple location relative to the main volume of the breast.Your result is certainly very attractive all while it may not quite your expectations with regard to nipple position. This is going to change over the next several months however. The lower pole skin will probably stretch a bit causing an auto rotation giving the appearance of a higher nipple even though it is caused by more fullness at the bottom part of your breast.A relatively minor procedure can be offered called a crescent lift. I would caution him against proceeding with this for at least 6 months postoperatively since there are going to be some continued changes.Overall result looks great.

Answer: 4 months post op Breast Augmentation, nipples too low? Thank you for the question and the pictures. Healing from surgery will take time. In the initial phase after surgery, within the first three months, there is a period of inflammation and scarring that must occur in order for you to heal. The breast implants can appear to be high and not in the right position. Over ensuing months these processes will subside and the inflammatory process gives way to scar softening and remodeling. The swelling will start to abate and the breast tissue will relax and accommodate allowing the implants to settle into their desired position, which is the stage of healing you are at. As the implants settle the nipples will appear to lift. These processes may occur at differing rates so that the breasts may not necessarily "settle" at the same time. I tell my patients that they will not see their final results for at least 6 months.I would encourage you to be patient and continue to follow up with your plastic surgeon. This will allow you and your surgeon the chance to discuss your concerns and help allay any anxieties you may be experiencing. It is almost certain your plastic surgeon will gladly revise your breasts if you remain displeased with the results after the 6 month period.I hope this helps. Best wishes and congratulations.
