Hi. I’m having a BBL but haven’t set the date yet. I was wondering, if I could go to the gym to build up some muscle in my legs? Will that hurt the chances of getting a BBL? I have a squared V- shape.

Answer: Working out and BBL procedure Working out prior to any procedure is very good for the body. Doing leg exercises are fine and will not affect the BBL procedure. If you want to build up the buttock muscles, consider doing squats and even skating type exercises.

Answer: Exercise and cosmetic surgery Exercise is always a good idea and will not reduce your candidacy for any cosmetic surgical procedure. Your picture isn’t sufficient to make an assessment for a BBL procedure. Look at our plastic surgeons take before and after pictures and try to take pictures in a similar manner. We generally need pictures taken from 8 feet away, showing your body in revealing undergarments with your arms down by your side, showing your front, side, and backside. Pictures can be cropped, but should include your body from your neck to just below your knees. Delivering consistent quality, Liposuction and fat transfer results is more difficult than most people believe. The number of plastic surgeons who can deliver quality work on a consistent basis or in a fairly small minority. These procedures are permanent and irreversible. If done, poorly people can be left disfigured. Being bored, certified in plastic surgery with years of experience, and overall good reputation is insufficient to confirm that somebody has mastered anyone single procedure, including Liposuction and fat transfer. To find the best provider, I suggest patients have multiple in person consultations. During each consultation, ask each provider to open up their portfolio and show you their entire collection of before, and after pictures of previous patients, who had similar body characteristics to your own. And experience provider should have no difficulty showing you the before and after pictures of at least 50 previous patients. It’s important to understand your own candidacy and what is causing your body to look the way it does. A BBL may or may not be an appropriate procedure for you. The choice of procedures should be based on having a clear understanding of what the underlying problem is. In regards to the front of the abdomen which is what you are displaying in your picture there are four variables to determine what they have them in looks like. Understanding which of these variables is causing your abdomen to look the way it does is how we choose with the best procedure is. Before variables determine what the abdomen looks like our abdominal scan Laxcity typically due to previous pregnancies or weight loss, excess subcutaneous fat, muscle separation from previous pregnancies, or excess visceral or intra-abdominal fat. Skin laxity and muscle separation are best treated with a full tummy tuck. Individuals with excess visceral fat need to lose weight. Liposuction only treats, subcutaneous fat. Based on your single picture, it looks like you have all four of these variables, so Liposuction would only treat one out of four problems. Since visceral fat can only be reduced through weight loss, that is certainly a good place to start. Different plastic surgeons will have different opinions. The patient should be focused mostly, and having a clear understanding of their own candidacy, including different treatment options and learn how to vet plastic surgeons through the insistence of seeing sufficient documentation based on quantity and quality of before and after pictures to make the best decisions.
