I have a deviated septum that has made the tip of my nose asymmetrical. One side caves in further than the other side and it looks crooked. Depending on the lighting and shadows on my face, it is sometimes not very noticeable and other times extremely obvious. What can be done to fix this?

Answer: You are an excellent candidate for septorhinoplasty Thank you for the photo. From what you have sent it appears that you have asymmetry of your lower lateral cartilage with a pronounced concavity on the right. Your septum, though it may be deviated, is not contributing to this finding. I would suggest a septorhinoplasty in order to address any functional and cosmetic nasal issues that you would like to improve. An experienced surgeon will be able to explain all of this in a concise fashion.

Answer: Crooked Nose Good Afternoon! There are options to improve the asymmetry of your nasal tip. If the septum is severely deviated, it often needs to be restructured with grafting material to help straighten and reinforce it for the most optimal outcome. I find open septorhinoplasty to be the most effective in this case. If substantial support and correction isn't provided, the nose will tend to revert to its initial position. Post-procedure, I would recommend careful monitoring for scar tissue and the usage of taping and compressions to ensure the best symmetry. Seek out a facial plastic surgeon who is familiar with rhinoplasty. Hope this is helpful to you.
