Do I need a breast lift? (Photo)

You've 'never had a problem' with your breast sag, but you've never had implants. Implants alone will leave you with an unattractive breast shape and nipple position. Breast lifts, with their attendant scars, will leave you with gorgeous and attractive breasts when you go to a breast expert.

Hello, thank you for your question. It is suggested because the implant tends to sit higher in the breast pocket and if your breast tissue is lower it will look funny have the snoopy affect. Speak to your plastic surgeon about your options if you want to avoid a lift but understand what to look for.

Implants provided added volume but not much lift. Implants alone will therefore provide larger, fuller breasts but not correct your sagging. If only volume is your goal, implants alone will suffice. If you would like the sagging improved and have an overall more aesthetically shaped breast, then adding the lift should be considered.

Thank you for your question and pictures. Getting a lift or not depends on what's your goal. If you want your breasts to look fuller, you can get an implant without a lift. If you want a "perkier" look, than I would recommend a lift with implants.

After I measure and discuss goals with my patients, we then look at pictures of women (my patients) with similar measurements with different size and style breast implants, if interested. They also get to see what they would look like when the breasts have fully dropped and fluffed and in clothes. Hi Warmhearted243977, If you don't mind the slight sag of your breasts or the position of your nipples as you mentioned, doing a breast augmentation only is definitely an option. You may be very happy with the results of the augmentation. If you decide that the sag bothers you in the future, you could always undergo at that time a breast lift. Anyways, it is important that you can see in person a board-certified plastic surgeon that can better assess your skin quality and breast tissue as well as discuss with you the size goal. Good luck!

For some patients a lift is really required to achieve aesthetic results (or their desired results). Others clearly don't need a lift, and there's obviously a group that are boarder line. The need for a lift in this patient group is more subjective. Based on your photos and comments (bigger instead of say higher or perkier or full upper pole, etc) i think you will be able to achieve your desired results without a lift. It's always better to see a patient in person, but lifts aren't for everyone. Get a second opinion or speak to your doctor about your concerns.

There is ptosis stage 2 so you are borderline. There is a large skin envelope so without a lift it would require implants 450-500cc You could always have the uplift later if you are not happy with the result

Based on your photos, you look like someone who is borderline for a lift with implants versus just a breast augmentation. A great option in cases like yours is a breast augmentation with some adjustments to help counteract the slight degree of sagging, and seeing how you like the shape and nipple position. Your nipple may still be a little lower than "ideal," but if that doesn't bug you or isn't worth the lift scars, then that's fine! If it does bother you, a lift can be performed in a second operation.
