Hi there, I am 38 years and have always been on the slim side - I haven't gained and lost a lot of weight in my life outside of a couple of pregnancies several years ago. I have noticed recently that when I turn my head it feels like there is some loose skin under my chin. Would a neck lift be reccomended here or are there some non-surgical procedures that could help with this?
Answer: Loose skin under chin when neck turned. There is definitely some loose skin, but to suggest what treatment would be helpful, an in-person exam and or some further views would be needed, like a frontal view relaxed and grimacing to evaluate the platysma. Treatment depends on how loose it looks and if there is any concern other than when the head is turned. There are skin tightening modalities both external and under the skin, available, as well as lasers for texture and tightening. A current minimally invasive non-incisional option for necklift is MyEllevate. This is a necklift without an incision done by placing a suspension suture under the jawline from side to side using special instruments and tiny punctures to move the suture with a light rod to which it is attached. These punctures do not leave a scar. Recovery about a week.

Answer: Neck tucks under local can solve the problem. A little platymaplasty (neck tuck) would tighten up the loose skin nicely and easily for roughly $8500 for quality work. Nothing else will make enough of an improvement to try. It is done under local and has dramatic results.

Answer: Neck lift vs less invasive options Thank you for posting your question here !my answer will be based on the limited information and pictures provided , for a detailed and personalized plan please consult with your plastic surgeon in person. you have many options and the the ultimate choice will depend on how invasive of a procedure you are willing to go for , it does appear that you have some redundant skin , but it is hard for me to tell for sure just based on the pictures provided there is a chance that what i am seeing is platysmal bands and if that is the case a neck lift or botox injections could address that issue depending on how invasive you want to go. If it is just redundant skin then you can try less invasive modalities like radio-frequency microneedeling , ulttherapy or even renuvion for less invasive measures your issue is still mild that you might find good results with those modalities . A neck lift would address those issues but everything is a tradeoff and you will have to be willing to undergo a more invasive procedure with some scars ( relatively well hidden but still present).I hope this helps!, best of luck!

Answer: Central neck, loose skin and deciding on neck lifts vs non-surgical Hello, Plastic surgery has 2 categories: reconstruction and aesthetic (satisfaction of art.) When we’re shopping for art for the home, we never ask if we need this. We ask if we like what we see, if it reinforces our vision of self and brings us joy. If you’re concerned about the beauty, you can imagine how to protect and keep your beauty or how you envision yourself. Sometimes it’s not about what you need, it’s about protecting and maintaining. In any case, it’s a personal decision based on what brings you satisfaction and confidence. Feeling a bit of loose skin under your chin when turning your head doesn’t automatically mean you need a neck or central neck lift. It’s important to consider whether this is noticeable in your natural resting position or only during certain movements. If you’re thinking about making a change, focus on what you specifically want to see when you look in the mirror, rather than comparing yourself to others. There are many solutions— to do nothing, some temporary, some longer-lasting—and consulting with an expert who understands your goals can help you decide what’s right for you. Most importantly, any procedure on the delicate neck area should be approached carefully. It’s not about going on an “adventure” with just anyone, but seeking out an experienced specialist who can deliver safe, predictable results and understands this specific territory.

Answer: Is a neck lift needed for excess skin? More information is needed, such as a full set of facial and neck photographs from all angles in a chin neutral position without straining your neck. When turning hard to the left or right, you are gonna stretch your skin, so that's an artificial situation.
