Body lift disappointment, 1 year post op, was too much fat left during the procedure? (photos)

I can see you had a tummy tuck as part of your body lift, but there are several different types of body lifts and I do not know what else was addressed. If your flank has fat you can pinch then it can be easily removed with liposuction. If loose skin in the flank is the issue it also can be corrected with a body lift procedure. Men however are less excepting of the scar which is hidden under the bra line of women but would be very noticeable in a shirtless man. Discuss with a plastic surgeon who does different types of body lifts. Good luck.

It looks like you have mostly posterior flank fat and little excess skin.  That is good, because the area where you have fat is one of the best areas to have liposuction performed.  It is possible at your initial surgery liposuction was not performed there, and this could be due to concerns about the skin blood supply.  In any case, you should see a good result from a liposuction procedure.

Hi CFisher73,  Thank you for your question and pictures regarding a 360 circumferential lower body lift.  I'm sorry you are disappointed with your lower body lift results. In your case, it is difficult to determine exactly what is going on. From the pictures you provided, it is difficult to tell exactly what surgery you had. From your backside picture, I do not see a posterior incision.  A 360 circumferential lower body lift includes removal of skin and fat from the abdomen, lateral hips, and buttocks. I do see on your frontal picture that there is an abdominal incision indicating that at least an abdominoplasty was performed.  In addition, you mentioned a 15 pound weight loss after your body lift surgery. Since you did not include your before body lift pictures, it is difficult to determine if your excess love handle fat is due to "inadequate" surgery or your 15 pound weight loss after your lower body lift. You just have excess love handle fat, this should be amenable to liposuction. Specifically, I would suggest VASER liposuction because it will heat the skin and cause better skin contracture than traditional liposuction. If you have  excess skin and fat in the love handle region, then I would suggest a revision of your 360 circumferential lower body lift. Either way, please seek an experienced, board-certified plastic surgeon who has performed hundreds of body lifts. I do not see a scar across your upper buttock area. A formal body lift also takes away skin from your hips and lower back area to tighten this up as well. It will give you a better contour result.

It's hard to say without seeing you in person, but I believe based on photos that you could see good results from liposuction, a tummy tuck or both. The most important step is to schedule a consultation with a board-certified plastic surgeon who specializes in post-weight loss body contouring and can give you a full evaluation to help you meet your long-term goals. when you show him/her the full flanks that you still have?  For most of us, this would fall under our revision policy and would allow for more liposuction as that would take down the love handles.  If that isn't fat, then you have a funny shape and an exam would be needed to recommend what may work best for you.  When technology is recommended, always make sure the provider has some kind of protection policy for you as you do not want to have minimal results after spending thousands of dollars.  In my practice with ThermiLift, I provide 50% back as a credit if I do not produce an easily appreciable outcome.

Without seeing how you looked before the body lift, it i shard to comment. However, it is common to have touch ups done. Ask your surgeon if some lipo will help.

Without the before picture is hard to evaluate your result.
But I don't see a catastrophic result, actually I do see a pretty decent one. Remember that we are allow to cut in certain places and patients want for us to make patients bodies taylormade, I'll love to do that, but regardless the Taylor he can put the seems in every single place for him to do your suit as tight as possible, but we can't. We need to watch for the blood supply. 
Some patients requires more than one procedure and revisions are common.
Talk to your surgeon and explain him your concerns , it is fair to be disappointed, but to be fair also, probably this same result you have could be in my hands also, or some other plastic surgeon.
