When the nasal tip of a nose is lifted will asymmetrical tip cartilage be less obvious? (Photo)

Hello I have asymmetric nasal cartilages please see photo. One prior surgery. A surgeon recommended to only lift up my nose tip only without making major changes . Will the lifting of the nose to make it to where tip asymmetry is less noticeable? The right side of my nasal tip cartilage drops a lot. What kind of result can be expected from lifting the tip only without changing cartilage?

While lifting the nasal tip can improve the symmetry of your nose, it may not completely eliminate all asymmetry, especially as the underlying cartilage itself is significantly different on each side. More extensive changes to the cartilage may be necessary to achieve optimal results.

It's important to consult with a board-certified plastic surgeon who specializes in rhinoplasty who will physically evaluate your nasal structure, discuss your goals, and provide a comprehensive analysis of what can be achieved with a tip-only approach.

Maybe. It depends  on what is making the cartilage asymmetrical. If it is because of the lower end of your septum pushing to one side, then shortening the septum would help accomplish that.

Hello! Thank you for your question. From the photos you provided I can say that your nostrils will not become symmetrical with lifting the tip. %100 symmetry is not achievable in any case. Please keep in mind that. With open rhinoplasty, your surgeon can use cartilage to make them more symmetrical. It would be more convenient to decide with face-to-face consultation. Best Regards!

Lifting an asymmetric nasal tip: if the nasal tip is lifted as one unit the asymmetry which previously existed will persist. The nasal tip is comprised of two separate cartilage halves, the right and the left. Each is a separate Cartlidge. These two Cartilages can be moved in relation to each other. So if the tip is being lifted and you wish to correct the asymmetry as well, the right tip cartilage should be lifted in relation to the left to correct the asymmetry as well as elevate and rotate the tip.

A full set of nasal photographs from all angles without your sunglasses on would be required to make a determination about how best to proceed, since the nose is a three-dimensional structure, and rhinoplasty is performed in all three dimensions. If you have a symmetrical tip cartilages, those need to be addressed with either grafting techniques or suture techniques. Simply lifting the tip of the nose is not going to address asymmetries. Digital computer imaging of your nose would also be helpful to understand what can be accomplished with your nose upon your facial features
