I had Restalyne lift injections in my lips and cheeks 10 weeks ago. I now have severe swelling. Will it ever go away?

I got a sinus infection last week and began swelling at the site of my fillers. Had many lumps on face and lips. I am now on prednisone and had face and lips injected with hyaluronidase. It has now been a week. My lips are very swollen every morning when I wake. As the day progresses the swelling goes down but the lumps become visible. Have you ever seen this delayed reaction before? Thank you.

If your reaction is the result of steroids, then it should dissipate but will take time.  Followup with your injecting doctor to report the situation and have patients.  Steroids have effects that taker a while to recede.

Thank you for your question. You shouldn’t experience swelling after 10 weeks. I recommend going to your provider for a follow up. Always make sure you seek treatment from a board-certified dermatologist.

You should have no swelling from the injection at 10 weeks and it sounds like you were overcorrected and the injections were not smooth and even. if necessary get a second opinion and be sure you see a board certified dermatologist
