That is a beautiful surgical result. The scars have created a cupid's bow.I would recommend that you consider permanent makeup. Your lips could be delicately outlined in pink and this could be used to make the right peak a little higher to match the left and it could be used to create a vee between the peaks. Permanent makeup matching your skin tone could be used to pigment the scars between the lip and the nose so that they are less visible. The firmness of the tissue would encourage filler to flow to the unscarred areas. This is likely to make the scars more apparent.Good luck to you.
Tracing all these structures with volume will only call attention to the presence of scars. You need an artful injector. This is more challenging than injection unscarred tissue. Do your homework on the injector. I think properly done, you will be very happy with the improvement. I would focus on the lips including the cupid's bow but not the philtrum and especially not the philtral ridges.
Yes, a cupid's bow can be created with well-placed fillers. Technique will be important here, so you'll want to see someone meticulous. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a facial sculpting expert. Best, Dr. Emer
Awesome question! First of all, your lips look amazing- as a surgeon who has done cleft lip and palate in the past- your lips look really great-kudos to your surgeon! To answer your question, the answer is it just depends. It's the scar tissue is the issue here. Usually we can make more of a cupids bow than is present now, but it may not be as sharp as others. Hope this helps and God Bless!Dr. Robb
Hi there,First of all, I think your bilateral cleft repair looks amazing. Alar base reconstruction looks great. Many people even without cleft lip repair does not have defined cupids bow. Also, because you have such defined philtrum area, focusing on the cupids bow will just draw attention to the area. For your situation I suggest subtle enhancement to achieve bilateral symmetry. The injector has to be mindful of the underlying abnormal muscle anatomy and the scarring. You have very good lip proportions. Microinjection of low HA content/low hydrophillic fillers to "reflate" deficient area to achieve bilateral symmetry would be the best initial approach. Hope this helps!
Your cupid's bow can be accentuated further by a vermilion advancement of the central upper lip region.
For a bilateral cleft lip repair, you have a great result. You do have a cupid bow.The scar is noticeable because of the color, may want to work on that not cupid bow.Injectables will be very unpredictable because of the scarring from the original repair.
Dear user93832:Difficult to give an approximate answer without a full lateral photo, but from what is illustrated I would recommend chin augmentation with a dermal filler like Voluma. Please see an expert injector with an eye for angles, proportions and balance. Best wishes.
It is common to be very swollen after receiving lip filler injections. Swelling can last for about 10-14 days after your treatment. During this time, the lips may appear a lot larger than what you expected and you might feel some large lumps too. However, the swelling will decrease day by day....
All these options are options. . .obviously that's not a very helpful statement but it's accurate. This is not an all-inclusive review but I'll elaborate: Fat transfer to the lips: About $3k-$5k. Better on the border than in the lip itself because fat graft survival can be uneven or worse gra...
