I got my first treatment of botox for chronic migraines yesterday. I am seeing a lot of information on aftercare for cosmetic botox, but feel that botox for migraines may be different (more injections, multiple sites). My main concern is showering (washing hair and face) and applying cosmetics. How long should I wait before doing both?

Answer: Washing/makeup after migraine We typically tell patients that after botox injections, it is safe to put on makeup right away! However, we recommend against aggressive facial massages including facials and really hard scrubbing for the first couple of days. I hope the injections work well for you! As always, contact your practitioner with questions.

Answer: Care after Botox for Migraines Gentle cleansing and application of skin care products and cosmetics are not a problem. One wants to be careful not to use a tight fitting helmet or goggles, electric facial brush such as Clarisonic, engage in downward yoga positions, have a massage or chiropractic visit for 3-5 days after injections. Hoping the best for you!
