Thanks for your photos and question.Crooked nose can be corrected after age 16 for female and age 18 for male patients. There are some non-invasive procedures that can help until that point.I would recommend seeing a specialist with your parents.
Having a crooked nose is quite common even in cases where there is no history of injury, but you are too young to have surgery performed. You need to wait until you are at least 16 years of age to undergo corrective surgery.
Dear lucylee,Because of your age, you are going to have to check with your parents before you do anythingSurgery should not be done until you have grown a little more, usually around 15-16There are non-surgical options which may help, but again, please bring this up to your parentsBest,Nima Shemirani
Crooked nose for young patient is common. In some patients the nose just grows crooked. If you are a female you can get the rhinoplasty when you're approximately 14 years old and if you are a male you should wait until 18 years of age.
If your nose is crooked you will most likely need surgery to straighten it out. However, you're probably too young for surgery if you're in the 6th grade. I would wait until you're done growing and maturing before having surgery. Typically for females that is around 16 years of age.
Thank you for your question and it is not unusual to have a crooked nose without history of trauma. I would see a specialist with your parents and get his opinion about surgeryDr Corbin
Many people even without an injury have crooked noses due to a crooked septum or the structure between your nose. This can usually be straightened. I recommend doing any type of nose surgery to wait until about 13-15 for girl and a little older for boys so it does not interfere with your facial development.
Having a crooked nose does not always relate back to a trauma or injury and can happen as early as childbirth through natural growth. As you are in sixth grade now you will need to wait until you are at least over fourteen years of age and typically by sixteen you may be ready for corrective surgery. As a minor you will need your parents consent so this is something you can look into with their help and expertise. Please in the interim do not stress about not "looking good"! If you look at the models in this day and age some irregularity and crookedness to the nose is flattering and gives a special character to each individual. Individuality is great! Enjoy your graduation this year from sixth grade! Best regards, Michael V. Elam, M.D.
I do not see a reason to separate the procedures. They are commonly performed together. The advantages are only 1 recovery period and you usually save about 40% of the surgeons fee on the second procedure as most surgery centers front load the costs for the first hour or so. I do not have a...
Yes, I would agree that altering the tip and alar bases is one of the more difficult Rhinoplasty procedures to perform. It is important not to be overly aggressive and narrow the nasal tip or alar base too much or the results will look unnatural and unattractive. Making the changes...
Nasal trauma can cause a fracture of the nasal bones which can be displaced or non displaced. Trauma can also cause the upper lateral cartilages to be fractured off of the nasal bones. Even a deviated septum can be caused from nasal trauma which is repaired with a septoplasty to improve ...
