Injecting filler in the tear troughs is one of the most difficult cosmetic treatments in the face. The skin in the area is very thin, and if not injected carefully it is possible to see lumps of filler under the skin, or even a “blueish colour” due to light being reflected from the filler. The area is also prone to swelling and bruising. Careful injection of filler will minimise the risks of lumpy and visible filler under the eyes. An injection performed with a blunt tipped micro-cannula, as opposed to a sharp needle, is not only less traumatic, with less bruising and swelling, but also allows deeper filler placement with minimal lumpiness. The use of cannula will permit much more accurate filler placement, and your results will be much more natural looking.Everyone breaks down filler at a different rate, but on average it would take six to twelve months for the filler to dissolve naturally. If you are very unhappy with the result, your cosmetic physician should be able to dissolve the filler.
Hello I have experience of removing dermal filler with Hylase from the tear trough area 5 years after it was placed. We naturally break down filler very slowly in this area but the change in anatomy is quicker and this can cause retained filler to shift position over time. This presents as swelling under the eyes and it can look blue.PRP takes longer to show results but it is natural and strengthens the anatomy around the eyes so it never gives any of these problems.PRP is always my first choice for my clients.Happy to help.Victoria
